Sump suggestions

The question is what do you need out of your sump? If you are looking for the sump to perform specific activities and those activities go beyond a simple set of chambers, then I would go with acrylic.

I have owned both glass and acrylic, I have also custom made both. In my experience Acrylic allows you to be way more creative. For example, you can have built in roller filters, built in reactors, adjustable baffles, lids, etc etc. This means the sump becomes more functional.

Regarding production acrylic. Clearly you are getting high production quality, but you can have a sump custom made to your needs and wants for not much more.. possibly even less depending on your design.

Thank you for your input! I’ll start to look more into sump customisation and see what I need, as I plan to use this as my sump even when I upgrade my tank in future. May I know where did u customise both your acrylic and glass sumps ?

Suggest you think about each section, and take a look at what is in the market from the likes of Geosreef and depending on budget Royal Exclusive just for ideas. Reefnerd on youtube just had a custom acrylic sump made for his tank which is worth looking at. Obviously budget comes into question when you want all the bells and whistles but at least it will give you an idea.

I got the acrylic locally but did all the construction myself.
