Logee
Hi can anyone help me on this, I am seeing a green color velvet like algae on my sand bed and on the live rocks. My nitrate level is very high as 100. Currently using vibrant alone. How to get rid of this . SRC Supporter SubzeroLT Posted September 16, 2021 SRC Supporter Share Posted September 16, 2021 Is this a FOWLR or do you have corals as well? Look into ways to reduce nitrates. 100 is quite high. Not good for the livestock long term as well. Are your lights very bright & on for long hours? Light is a key contributor to this green algae. Also look into livestock that eat algae. Tangs, snails are good options. Quote Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/mysliceofnature/
Logee
This is fish only tank there is no corals . Can I kill the lights completely for one or two days ??Sent from my SM-G985F using Tapatalk
SRC Supporter SubzeroLT Posted September 16, 2021 SRC Supporter Share Posted September 16, 2021 Switching off the light for few days can reduce the algae growth rate. I meant you can reduce the light level long term as well. Quote Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/mysliceofnature/
