Ammonia levels still high

Hi guys it’s been 4 days into my tank cycle and my ammonia levels are still above 8ppm. Is this normal or should i do a water change?

Just give it time and dont touch. Leave it. atleast 3weeks. i cycled for a month.

I have a feeling it’s because i might have dosed abit too much dr tims ammonia. Damn I’m such an idiot🤦🏼‍♂️

2ppm is what you should be aiming for. What bacteria are you using?

As nkxyy indicated, it takes a while..all my cycling takes up to a month.

You just have to be patient. Chances are you will also notice high nitrate levels as well and you might want to do a water change or multiple of them.
