DIY titanium ground probe

sorry for the blur pic.... i'm using a web cam...

a few things to note, if your tank isvery far away from the power supply, use a longer wire, you could use any kind of wire......

I've use less 5 mins to connect everything.... so, try it your self, feel free to comment........

Simply squirt some silicone into the connector. That should be good waterproofing.

pai seh, pai seh...forgot to take the last part of the pic.... now the probe in my tank, lazy to take out, as wat AT and bara suggest, you must water proff the connection, just use any silicon or wrape it with those PVC tape that electrician use, its only $0.30 for 1 roll....

this is a titatium bicycle spoke, i've cut off the top part which looks like a hook, and the bottom part which is whit screw lines.... this is because the bicycle shop owner told me that this 2 part is made by some kind of alloy....

Can other conductive material to be used?

I got this advise from a PHD guy on material.

SS317, SS316 and F75 ( use in medical product work as good as Titatium)

they are conductive and non- corrosive.

can't get titatium, not easy ....

Previous Tank 3 x 2.5 x 2 ft since year 2005. 23 Jan 2009 fully decom my 3ft. Now only left 24"x14"x16" and I am very happy cos can see all my fish in near range.. haha

Hi bro,

It wun save much to DIY so dun waste time ...just get one off the shelf titanium ground probe from LFS :rolleyes: .

It costs around 18~21 buck only :eyebrow: .
