SRC Member xIHA Posted December 3, 2021 SRC Member Share Posted December 3, 2021 Hi, just wanted to share this light diffuser I made. It costs around $10 excluding shipping and around 15 minutes to make. It can be used for almost any panel/puck style LEDs. Pros: Better color mixing Better shimmer lines Softer shadows Cheap and easy to install Can be used on almost any led light fixture Cons: Reduces PAR by around 15-20% (Can be fixed by turning the intensity up to compensate or bringing the light fixture lower) More light bleed into the room (Can be fixed by using a shade of some sort) Parts list: Daiso adhesive backed magnets x2 (https://shop.daisosingapore.com.sg/products/lets-create-your-own-original-magnet-medium-20m?_pos=214&_sid=900d1830a&_ss=r) Light diffuser sheet (https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.0.0.57d82e8dDeHXSe&id=601022402173&_u=3204ppiq6f57eb) Here I used the LGT075T2 as it provided me with the best shimmer whilst not reducing the output too much but you can get multiple sheets to try out. They came in A4 sized sheets so I just traced the outside parameter of the light and cut to size. Instructions: 1. Stick 4 magnets on the corners of the light 2. Cut light diffuser material to size 3. Stick 4 magnets onto the magnets already placed onto the light for alignment 4. Remove adhesive and stick the light diffuser material onto the magnets Some pics of the project: Here i am using it on an AI hydra 26. Unmounted and the magnets on the led itself Comparing the "TV static" effect on the sandbed Without diffuser: With diffuser Quote Hey #ff6f61
