SRC Member Zixuan Posted December 9, 2021 SRC Member Share Posted December 9, 2021 \ Hi fellow reefers! This is my 2ft mixed-reef tank, pardon the corals scattered at the bottom... this is a 2ft length, by 1ft width and 1.5ft height tank. I'm running a Zetlight QMaven 6600, but is thinking of upgrading my lights to an AI Hydra 64HD or 32HDs or even Radions, but I am unsure how much and whether it's good or not! Any advices on the following? 1) If I run 1x AI Hydra 64HD, will it be enough PAR or light? 2) If I choose for the cheaper AI Hydra 32HD, how many do I need? 3) For a 2ft tank, what's a good Radion light to run? SRC Member JiaEn Posted December 10, 2021 SRC Member Share Posted December 10, 2021 All these are good choices, and are capable of growing most corals in the hobby. Choice between hydra and radion boils down to you budget and preference of the "look". If choosing between a hydra64 vs 2 hydra32, i'll choose the latter because there will be less shading. Consider your tank dimension, I won't be surprised if a hydra 32 is sufficient.
SRC Member Zixuan Posted December 10, 2021 Author SRC Member Share Posted December 10, 2021 Hahaha I asked around, i think i'll likely consider a 2nd hand 64HD in time to come
