Just done up my DIY T5.

Using shoesrack from ikea and did some mod. on the length and width.

It's much lighter and it gives better ventaliation.

Overall size of the fixture: 90cm(W) x 125cm(L) x 5cm(H)

Materials:

1no x Ikea shoe rack.

4nos x Aquaz 4ft Parabolic reflectors

2nos x Aquaz 4ft 20000k

2nos x Aquaz 4ft actinic blue

4sets x non water proof endcaps.

2nos x 3inches fans

2nos x dual elbiru e-ballast

But have u consider that the shoe rack material might not be able to sustain long term expose to salt contents due to evaporation? Just wondering!! 

The shoe rack is made of wood so dont think there's any issue there.

  Is that waterrpoof end cap? 

They are just the normal non-water proof endcaps.

Ic. Just make sure u have some clear plastic sheet to prevent the water from getting to it.  

In that case, will change to the BJB waterproof endcaps tonight. Then will post pics.

:idea: is the waterproof endcaps more expensive then the non type?

nice anyway.

can show me how u fix the reflectors to the rack? using screws? 

You are rite, I just use any "cross-head" screws that i can find and screwed them directly into the rack.
