Hi chewlaoheng,

It depends on your current phosphate level and how much you need to reduce, if you have high levels of PO4 it would be best to use Purephos Premium.

Carbphos Premium also has carbon and zeolite in it and to be used more for aquariums with normal or lower PO4 levels. Although It will still lower phosphate and at the same time also remove organics for water quality.

If you use Carbphos in aquariums with very high phosphate - yes it will work but you will end up changing the media more often. For that we rather you use Purephos initially to bring down levels.

This way you will find that not only did we launch 2 products for PO4 , we make it cost less for you to run in the long term because once you have drop your phosphate levels you can use Carbphos to keep the level down and at the same time benefit from the usage of carbon.

regards

:)

Nothing much to worry about, but just in case.

There is limited stock of both Carbphos Premium and Purephos Premium at the mention Singapore LFS, as there is some delay due to human error on custom clearing issues.

Finally got my hands on a bottle of PurePhos. :D

Just a moment ago.. took my PO4 reading via the Salifert PO4 test kit before applying the PurePhos in my sump...

PO4 reading was at 0.7 ppm (estimated - cos the test colour is in-between 0.5 and 1.0 ppm) is rather high.. cos' the last time i applied a PO4 remover was 3 months ago.

Will monitor for the next few days ... :rolleyes:

In order to test for effectiveness of Purephos, I had my phosphate rise to 0.3ppm

Then I got my bottle of 500ml Aquaz Purephos on 26 February 2005

The granules inside were brown as compared to rowa which is black. So when I reached home, I rinsed it with water to get rid of the fine particles and loaded the rest into my FR. I must say, I am very impressed with the size of the granules as each were of similar size and this made fluidisation much easier and more effective.

So after 1 day of using the product, I checked my phosphate levels and guess what? It had dropped to <0.3ppm but not yet undetectable.

In conclusion, i am satisfied with the pricing, quality control and effectiveness of the product :lol:

I have been a firm believer of Rowa and have 300gm running in my RM FR for more than a months liao.

Have noticed that Po4 have been hovering around 0.03 for 5 days liao, meaning time to change media liao. Decided to change when test on my salifert showed reading between 0.003 - 0.1ppm.

Went to one of our sponsors to get Rowa but no stock so decided to try Aquaz. Was pleasently surprised by the price.

Anyway, when home to test out product. Upon closer inspection realized that the packaging are double sealed, I guess they must have reacted on comments about their products being not properly sealed. Plus points! :D

When I opened the container, I found that the content are brown and dry, unlike Rowa which will trapped moisture thus have a wet feel to it. Colours wise its more like the BioPhos II although the grandules are slightly bigger and even as compared to the BioPhos II.

I rinsed the Purephos briefly under di water and immediately placed the whole 500ml into my FR and start running.

Waited for 2 days and tested water, 0.3ppm using Salifert.

Today is the 4th day after using the Purphos, just tested and colour is lighter that 0.03ppm but not totally white (zero).

So I guess the Purephos has done it job of absorbing Po4. ;)

My overall impression so far

* Good competitive price

* Absorbtion of PO4 can be measured within two days with a 1000l/hr FR, previously when I used Rowa, I am able to get near zero on the 2nd day with about 300gm using the same FR

* Improved packaging to protect its content from external elements

Verdict

Cannot compare to Rowa in terms of performance (absorbtion rate) but definitely an more economical choice for reefers not willing to spend to much on Rowa. ;) Good, also for reefers who dun have FR and use filter bags and thus need a more economical source po4 absorber. :D

i wonder if the slower absorption rate might be a plus point?

Considering I've heard of cases where some people shock their corals accidentally when phosphates get sucked out suddenly...

YEa might be a plus point. I've had sps stn on me when I first used Rowaphos. Maybe it absorbed the phosphates too fast..

Always something more important than fish.

Wow, didn't too fast absorbtion rate will cause STN. :D

Thanks for sharing bro. :thanks::bow:

Anyway, will do some more test tonight and update if necessary. ;)
