Hi All!

Realised how prone our marine 'babies' are so prone to power trip? So many tank crashed incident due to the unexpected power trips in our house!

I have sourced and found the below budget UPS back-up system!

1KVA UPS back-up system - $240

2KVA UPS back-up system - $450

Plus $60 for delivery and installation if required.

The accurate derivation for UPS back up time is through a software program. In most cases, estimation is used.

Estimation Only:

For 1KVA UPS back-up system:

- 100W 1 hour. I.e 20 W pump would still be able to run for 5 hours.

x 2 running time for 2KVA UPS back-up system.

Hi,

I've heard that some pump/power head can't be use on some UPS, care to share?

Thanks,

bernard

Hi Bernard,

We have done a test run for few pumps and it works ok. Well, if your main pump does not 'matches' with the UPS installed, no obligation, we can do a full refund for you.

Hello Iwarna, I'm looking for an UPS and came across this post.

The documentation says it produces a pseudo sinewave.

I would appreciate it if you could kindly clarify a few things for me:

1. Please confirm whether this is able to drive pumps such as

Tunze Stream TS07, SEIO 820 and Eheim 1262?

2. Note that TS07 has an electronic controller, would it work on this UPS?

3. Would using pseudo sinewave shorten the lifespan of the above equipment?

4. What's the warranty period for the UPS? What does it cover during

the warranty period?

Thank you in advance for your help.

not expert lah...just that i used non-pure sine wave UPS before on my eheims and tunzes and they did not work well.....the flow rate of the eheim or the tunzes were not at their full flow rate....

the best way is to bring your pump or a similar one down to iwarna to test if it works well with the UPS or not :)

Hi Roidan,

You mentioned that you used UPS "before and they did not work well". What do you use now? I am still thinking of more effective and less expensive ways to tackle power failure problems. Quite a number of innovative DIY gadgets had been featured and shared among members. Any electronic experts among our reef friends out there who can come up with some wonderful ideas? Perhaps we can put our heads together.
