Mg 1075ppm-what can happen?

i'm having Mg of 1075ppm.How can i increase to the requirement and maintain it?

will dolomite in CR increase it overtime?

or i need to dose Mg first and maintain it with dolomite in CR?

i'm keeping lps and softies.

I don't measure it daily,so would.t know.

how are you gonna to maintain something you don't know?... jus measure it for 3 days, the second the know the difference, and the third to confirm.

its the same value 1075 today and yesterrday.

it seems doesn't change a bit.

i did remember 2 months back the mg was about the same now.so i believe all along it was that value since.

too engrossed to maintain my Ca and KH totally didn't bother about mg.

Buying magnesium supplements is a waste of $ as you will need to add alot to increase the levels to recommended levels (1200-1500 ppm). Best bet to increase the levels is via water changes using commercial salt mix. Get to replenish other trace elements as well.

I'm of the view that Mg is not crucial, and have read that you'll need some to prevent excessive precipitation, which gives a higher reading of Ca and dKH. I think Mg in reef tanks are sometimes taken too seriously... the primary reason being that they are so abundant naturally, its hardly limiting. One of the many myths... jm2¢

Had the Mg increased yesterday with epsom salts.

The Mg now at 1400.KH and Ca still same.

will monitor daily.

Surprisingly,my zoo open bigger now.

I don't know because of higher Mg or just coincidence.
