Tube Worm

Hi Reefers,

Do anyone know how to extract the tube worm from the LR?

I need to relocated this fellow to my new tank without the LR.

i tot just pull

when u place em at the new location they'll ooze the slime thing and attach itself to the new location. thats from my own experience la

of course, do be gentle. squishing the tube may result in worm fatality

Just pull. I did it to mine. And the whole "bark" came out. Now my tube worm attached to LR bare ######.

U pple say like nike advertistment....

I used to squish (gently) the tail and slowly work my way up.

Done correctly Mr. fanny will crawl out.

Another idea is to cut open the tube but that needs

more skill and good scissors.

(not penknife, don't frag the worm like a mushy)

I just try to dislocate the base off the rock and then place it next to the new location, try to use another smaller piece of rock to hold it down, then later it will join itself to the new rock.

My friend and I have tried relocating tube worms. Some with success, some without..

Most of the time, we'll end up pulling out the whole tube, without the worm! And yes, the worm will be ###### among the rocks but they will slowly grow back their outer layer.

I guess the best bet with their relocation is to pinch the end of the worm that's stuck to the live rocks when the tube worm is open. By pinching the tail-end of the tube worm when it's opened is to ensure that the tube worm doesn't wiggle its way out through the tail-end and ###### on the liverocks when you pull the whole tube out.

ya I remember. and I agree that that's the best was to remove them..cause once they're in the tube you'll hv a hard time gettin them out.
