Setting up QT tank

Recommended Posts

Hi,

not sure if this is the right thread.

As mentioned by all the old birds in this forum, setting up a proper QT is a must. I am currently using a 2ft bare-bottom tank, running a liberty hang-on filter.

Is this enuff ? Do I need to add a skimmer ? how often should I change the water to ensure that I am getting rid of those unwanted waste and free-floating bacteria from the ich ?

Should I add a skimmer ? What model is recommended ? weipro2011 ?

currently using water from my main tank, and have 2 tangs under quarantine.

some insight of my QT.

1. power head

2. skimmer (hav so use lor)

3. Heater (QT use to be inside my room with air con)

Every evenin, after feedin. I siphon out the left over food, remove almost 70% of the water frm the QT.

Check salinity of water.

Replenish back the 70% (50% new 50% frm main tank).
