My perculas pair have gone into extended spawning this year. Last 3 years they normally have only about 6 batches.

For those who have PM me the support.... :thanks:

The following is some pics of the latest batch. These were hatched on Sunday Night 26 Feb.

Day 3

Main Bulk of Causalties kicks in today.

estimated 20 to 30 percent losses of babies.

Survival of the strongest. Those babies unable to catch food start to die off as their egg sack depletes.

:( sad as I may, but its nature in action.

Babies size now about 3mm

1st Batch - No survivors

2nd Batch - 4 commandos, which i kept 2 and gave 2 to a friend.

3rd Batch -

12, kept 2 and sold the rest to a dedicated reefer. He's willing to go thru the trouble of taking care of the lot til adulthood.

4th to 7th Batch -

average about 40-50 survived metamorphosis, all sold to a local LFS for long term development. According to book by Joyce D. Wilkerson, true perculas takes about a year to fully develop all the strips and color to be marketable.

I don't have the facilities to take care of so many babies.

;):D:lol:

How old you want them?

Even at 1 month old, they are still too small to go into any main tank.

Hi... So sorry...I lost track of all the sms and misplaced your number....But the star polyp still with me...I've still kept it and not release to any one else. Gimme a call to arrange. I stay in Sembawang.

As for the babies.....

Yes, they can sure go into a pico tank....PROVIDED there's no other fish or crabs or whatever that will make food out of them. They are still very small.
