but the scaping idea there is set.

you need big rocks

agree with bro jem...ur LR are way too small. U should get the LFS to indent large size for u.

U need those that are above 10kg / pc type....with that type of size, ur scaping will ook more natural...

smaller rocks makes it look man made

Bigger rocks will sure make your tank looks much much better.

I actually prefer it when your tank had less rocks. Something about the yellow backdrop which makes your tank stand out.

Everyone is complaining, quickly replaced the air cleaner catrige and put them on full blast. Bought 3 Rowa carbon and will put them in after all the water parameter check. Hopes this will bring down the smell.

Just noticed that I still have a huge bucket of LR left. As I did not receive the LR when they deliver. It is keep in the store with water by the store man. Whoooo...what can I say when I open up the bucket today? YUK.. can't describe it. Quickly change out the water and hope that will be able to use them again after some curing.

Ah.. no skimmer yet. As the DIY skimmer is a little leaking here and there. Think I should get it fix and fire up by tomorrow. The nitrate and PO has sky rocketed. Thinking of denitrator. Any suggestion?

It's normal for PO4 to sky-high now... as for NO3... normal although didn't expect it to appear so soon... don't worry bro... with your water volume and water flow... things will go back to normal pretty soon A denitrator is quite inevitable for your case as you can't possibly keep enough Chaetomorpha to export nutrients... if you are planning on biological method denitrator... the higher the NO3 in your water, the faster it will run-in

Was like checking out the net for good skimmer and was going to check out the Hydro 3000 use by bros here. And found the Tunze in the shop. Anywhere they do not have the hydro 3000 in stock so pick the Tunze instead. The reason of not proceeding further with the DIY setup are due to the huge energy consume by the Eheim pump compare with 4 X 23W by the Tunze. Less wattage less heat and less $$$. Trying to run the tank without chiller.

This is quite a huge skimmer to fit into the sump. So extended the sump with a Toyogo tub. Fired up and lets see if it break-in by tomorrow. Initial finding is the noise of the pump is too loud for my liking. Hopes it is another break-in things.

Yeah... some NW pumps do emit rattling sound for the first couple of hours of operation... can't wait to see some gunk...

Emm... quite impossible your water can be super clean as there are way too many decomposing organisms within the curing live rocks... however today is just 1 full day of running... it is VERY NORMAL for good skimmers to at least kick-in within 3 days... mediocre skimmers can take 1 to 2 weeks actually

This is what I got from the skimmer after 48hr. The noise is still there, may be slightly less or I have get use to it. But my filter bags is defernately getting very much more than this, as I have to wash it every 3 day (complete block)
