bro alex your filter bag pores are in mircons rite ? maybe u want to add some filter wool or media before the filter bags to filter out the coarser deris. think this might increase the time before the bags are completely blocked

Thanks for the suggestion. I will be monitoring the filter first. As expected, the first few days I will need to wash them daily and the frequency has streached to 3 days now and if it can streach to 1 week than I think I should be happy with it. By then I will try the 1 micron bags.

But your micron bags will become more prone to clogging once you introduce corals and fishes into the system... uneaten food especially

Bro Alex, appreciate if you pour your skimmate into a transparent bottle/container so that we can enjoy the quality of the skimmate... bearing in mind the skimmer is still running-in

Hi AlexCWSoo,

just wondering, for the Tunze skimmer, what kind of impeller is it using? Needle wheel? Mesh?

Thanks!

hohoho! that's a badass tank man! super impressive looking and the lights look so neat and compact!

maybe you could shield off the stray light shinning out by the side so its less glaring for the viewer.

How many watts is that?

Any idea wat is the colour temp of the bulbs?

per pcs. of LED is 5W. Have 76 pcs. running now. work out to be 380W.

The white is 6500K to 10000K should be around 8000 to 9000K now as i am driving them to 80%.

The Blue is 440 to 460nm should be at 450nm now

I am running 30pcs of blue and 46 white now. It still looks a little too blue to me. May be I done have enought of light yet.

Will be putting up a partition around the tank once everythings is stable and settle down. Will leave it open for ease of working and alteration if needed.

Maybe you need to run only 1/3 of blue led. Just a suggestion. ;)

Wow... Nice... How much is the cost of doing something like that?

U ever compared it to the intensity of MH or T5, as well as the heat generated?

I would be interested to explore something that powerful as my next upgrade...
