Hi All,

This my 1st post in this forum.

I am new in marine hobby

I have 3Ft (50 Gallon) FOWLR tank.

Livestock: Maroon Clown, Copperbanded Butterfly, yellow Wrasse.

Yellow Tang(still in qurantine tank)

Cleaning Crew: 2 Skunk Shrimps, Fire shrimp , Sand Sifting Star, hermit crab & one snail.

water changes 10% per week

Ph: 8.4 & Nitrate: 30ppm

Bought a beautiful sun coral from Pasir ris fish farm & its doing very well..

A present there only a internal overflow filter

Wondering, if i need to get a protien skimmer.

I was looking at the Jebo 180 cause its cheaper, but their reviews on the forums arent to great.

No budget to get an expensive protien skimmer!

What do u guys think!

Thanks guys for replying

LOL... GSS discount

Did a lot of searching on Buy/ sell... i can find only 2 leagues of skimmer...

1) which is high end skimmers & even old one will burn holes in my pocket $150++

2) Skimmers like Weipro Venturi Driven Protein Skimmer SA-2011 $10+

Nothing in between

Anyway will keep search or put up a post.

BTW is this Weipro any good?

You forgot to mention whether you have a sump tank or not. If no sump, then you probably need to get those hang-on skimmers. Not sure how big is your internal overflow compartment to fit a skimmer.

I dont have a sump, only a small internal partition for overflow filter, maybe about 5 inches wide. dont know what can fit in it!

I am new here.. can sombody tell me how do u attach picture to the forum

PS: thats my sun coral i bought last week

It was salvaged from together with the tank. Someone had thrown out the tank and equipment.

any space for a hang on skimmer?

Think there was a person selling a decent one for $90+?

Yeah finally did that...bought a Weipro 2011...hang on type. $33 from pasir ris & put it in my overflow chamber...

Dont need to worry about it overflowing & stuff...

After 4 days..it is producting green tea coloured skimmates...
