SRC Member angelfishlover Posted November 7, 2008 SRC Member Share Posted November 7, 2008 Uhmm i know some of the worms are fireworms which most of it are safe.Any fishes gone missing cause of the worm?I know that fireworms scavenge for dead or deacaying things usually cause i have saw it myself.Anyways the only good method to get rid of the worm is to boil the live rock then cut it open. MachoMarlin
Wow! 3ft!! Sure it's not an eel? One of the natural predator, will be a fingermark snapper! Suggest you sieve your sand. if you are lucky, it might have already migrated into the sand.

SRC Member vt_snowman87 Posted November 7, 2008 SRC Member Share Posted November 7, 2008 hm.. you probably should identify the worm first.. bobbit, fire, or bristle.. if its a bobbit, den you probably should rescape.. they're too fast to catch.. if its a fire or bristle, you could sneak up on them in the middle of the night, and hopefully get a good grip (using tongs) and pull it out.. but i would expect it to break into 2.. therefore leaving probably another 1ft inside.. u need to catch it again.. but it might just work.. because they're slower and less sensitive than bobbits.. just my opinion, good luck.. ambystoma82
i tink tht is quite diff to ID,cus by the time can ID u shld b already catching it.. the generally bigger pieces of bobbit worms like to hide in rocks...than sandbed unless hunting... what size is ur biggest LR ???? maybe some guys out there can design artificial rock with tunnels then in e centre putting its fav food.. as time goes by u can take out n check.. as long as it cannot sense u (I.E it hide itself inside e articial rock) i say we celebrate by boiling it...... Akamutorumu
i think this is a fireworm, no? But i think 3 feet is too scary to be inside a 5 footer tank.
