My 4 x 2 x 1.5 Reef tank

Tank (from CR):

Dimensions- 4 x 2 x 1.5 ft

I chose 1.5 ft height for easy maintenance & better light penetration... regret after seeing hijacking's spectacular tank!

Age: 4 months (set-up in mid-August 08).

Equipment:

Light- 6 x 54w ATI HO

Skimmer- no brand from AM

CR -Xtreme CR with Aquapharm Reef-lith

FR - RM FR with SORB-4

LS:

Fish

1) False Pecula (with me for 5 years!)

2) Pecula Clown (with me for 5 years!)

3) Maroon Clown (with me for 5 years!)

4) Blue Damsel

5) Clarkii Clown (2 nos)

6) Sabae Clown

7) 6-line Wrasse

8) Royal Gamma

9) Mandarin fish (1 pair)

10) Yellow Goby

11) fire Goby (2 nos)

12) Purple Goby

13) Blueline Pipefish (1 pair)

Have been working hard to control the nitrate levels...

If you look closely at the photos, you can see very large bunches of Chaeto on both sides of the display tank and in the sump... + bags and bags of PURA NitrateLock, Seachem Denitrate, etc inside my sump!

shallow tank can be nice with TLC :-)

btw, wat the reading of your N03?

Nitrate still hovering at around 5-10 ppm..

Ammonia, Nitrite, Phosphate at zero

The birdnest & digita (blue polyp) frags from you are doing very well..

The light blue tip acro frag has turn slightly greenish brown though... probably due to nitrate

not dangerously high.

beside cheato, can also consider AZNO3 or BioDigest.

both product will help in skimming and reduce NO3.

as for Azno3, follow their instructions and dose with care.

Has been living in this coral for more than a week.. fortunately none of my fish (esp 6-line wrasse) is harassing it.

Only around 2.5cm long.. feeds greedily on frozen mysis.. in a quarantine tank that is slowly evolving into a fowlr tank
