  1. I also have a back up heater in my cabinet. It's meant for heating water change water but is good for a temporary heater too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Oh the weather here is absolutely awful lol. Extreme heat in summer, cold rain in fall, and feet of snow in winter. I just moved to a brick house with an amazing heating/cooling system and great insulation. The house temp never fluctuates. My room is also nowhere near any doors to the outside so that helps. 3. I do have four seasons. My room is always a constant 72° every season. My heater keeps the water at 80° for cycling. I will decrease the temp tonight to 78°. When I said air-conditioning unit I really meant heater and cooler system. The room has constant temperature monitoring/ adjusting by my thermostat to keep at 72°. The room stays unchanged. If my heater fails then I would need a chiller, but at that point I believe it would already be too late.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. It's a very strong air conditioning unit too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Will I need a chiller with a thermostat in my room? It's a fairly small room. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I just did a five gallon water change.. I have to pick up a bigger container from the store when I go tomorrow. Nitrite has been consistently zero now for three days, ammonia has been zero for a week, and nitrate went from a light 20 to a dark ten(since my last test before the water change). When I go to my LFS tomorrow would it be acceptable to get a pair of baby clowns? I have no algae to support snails or crabs even though there's been a rotting shrimp in there for two weeks(maybe due to bio spira?) and then when I get a diatom bloom add some CUC? I'm excited and that worries me. I'm probably rushing... But clownfish [emoji7] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Really? I'm told pukani is more porous/ more volume per lbs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I'm not based in Singapore... This is just one of the only forums that seem to work for me. The others keep telling me I can't sign up. And I got the pukani from Bulk Reef Supply. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I have 20 lbs of pukani. Is this enough? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I am using aquarimate. It's 10 dollars... But it has a lot of nice features like a wish list, a catalog of available corals/invertebrates/fish/and plants(with good information), a timeline so you can track the progress of your tank, and the graphing function seen above. Plus I'm sure there are uses I have yet to find bc I have no livestock yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. My tank is 36 gallon(3ft) and I will be adding livestock every 2 weeks starting with snails. Max 12" of fish. Only soft corals for now. I am going to do my best not to kill my wallet and my livestock [emoji108] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I've had no large diatom bloom. Just a few here and there. And I have no livestock and won't be getting fish for some while. First thing will be 2 snails then a soft coral. Maybe gsp. Why is a diatom bloom a sign of cycling? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Please excuse my inability to use forums... This is my cycles using a raw shrimp with biospira and testing with an API test kit(not expired). Is this right? Am I cycled in under two weeks??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
