I am currently in the freshwater hoppy and wish to pick up reef keeping soon, just a newbie questions , can I use established bio media from my freshwater tanks to seed the new reef tank. And whether normal sand from normal LFS can be used just as a decorating seabed.

Hi..i did the same thing..i converted my FW to Marine and used Bio medias from FW. Its possible and works. But no idea about sand as I didnt use sand in my FW tank.

Sand is better to use aragonite sand for marine, fw sand is not suitable due to ph requirement.
