  1. Hi all, Does anyone know what time Marine Life and Reborn open on weekdays please? Thinking of dropping by tomorrow morning. Thanks in advance!
  2. I think you have Mantis Shrimp in your tank.
  3. Look, I wouldn't say your reply to my post was exactly friendly and I was replying in the same tone. Your original post mentioned that you were always looking for the holder in that photo you posted. I was merely helping by making a suggestion that you could modify one yourself using those inexpensive plastic bags fastener/sealer from Ikea. Same or not, others can see it for themselves. If you really think there's no resemblance by looking at the photo you posted and my last photo, I think you need to get your eyes check or at least wipe the gunk off your eyes (try the corners of your eyes near the nose bridge. That's usually where most of it accumulate). The ones I have are like staplers to me too. I did not say you could get your pincher at Ikea, I said you could get those plastic bag sealer/fastener at Ikea store and modify. You really need to read my post again. I think you really need to do something about your eyes...hmmm...maybe it's the brain. Actually, all your replies to me are kind of sarcastic. We are here to share and learn. I made a suggestion, you threw some sarcastic remarks at me. Unfortunately, all kinds of forum has a couple of (in nicer words) smart alec like you. And unfortunately, I am having my first close encounter with one...I usually avoid them like a plague. Similarly, in this post, I am relpying in the same tone. Goodbye. Before I leave, here's a modified pincher using IKEA PLASTIC BAG FASTENER/SEALER done in 2 minutes!!
  4. Here's another pic in a similar position. Ikea has been selling these for donkey years and yes, for only a few bucks a dozen!! And I have been using them for donkey years too! I did not say Ikea sell fish stuff. You have to read carefully before you shoot your mouth off! Btw, the pink one above was from a supermarket...but can't remember which one coz my wife bought them (again few bucks a dozen!).
  5. Here's a pic of them. I have plenty at home for my kids' leftover biscuits and sweets plastic bags. I think you are the one who haven't seen plastic bags sealer/fastener!!!!!
  6. Dropped by Superst*r a couple of times. But when I saw them selling Red Sea Salt for $18.80 per 4kg bag , I stopped going already. Other LFS selling for only $14. Even S*m Yick at Pet S*f*ri is selling at $14. Thanks anyway.
  7. That looks like a modified plastic bag sealer/fastener. Ikea has them....few bucks for a dozen! Some supermarkets stock them too.
  8. Just topping up H20 is not good as ammonia, nitrite and nitrate will build up over time.
  9. I have 3 juvenile clowns (about 1.25inch each) in my 1ft setup (moving them to a 4ft tank soon!). I feed them a variety of food but all Hikari Marine -S- (small sinking pellet type) Frozen Brine Shrimp Frozen Mysis Shrimp Frozen Daphnia They love all of them! Whenever I walk towards the tank, they scramble to me expecting food!
  10. I may be getting the 2014 as I just read from another thread that the 2013 and 2014 price difference is only a few dollars. Any advice on where to get a good price for the 2014 (actually, how much is it huh? ) and which power head would be a great combination and an estimated price on the power head would be great too. Thanks alot. I appreciate all the kind help.
  11. Hey! I just realized I have a spare 2ft tank in the 3 tier stand in the balcony! Great! I'll use that for keeping water overnight! Thanks for all the kind advice.
  12. A LFS in Joo Chiat told me that. Just 1 pail to change water for a 4ft and above tank? Please may I know how big is that pail and how often do you change? Oh, btw, I am setting up a FOWLR aquaria. Hmm...for my FW planted setup, it was much easier. Just use a hose to siphon out part of the water, then top up and at the same time add anti-chlorine. My plants just grew and grew! Thanks for your reply.
  13. I am very curious. Want to find out from you guys how do you change water? I can't imagine you guys having pails and pails of water standing overnight, then on the next day, stir salt in and pour into the tank. Is this the way? I was told by a LFS to siphon out part of the water then fill the tank up slowly and simultaneously pouring in and stirring in the salt. I just started a 4ft tank (actually, just converted my nice planted tank ). Just want to find out what's the most common and conveniet method to change water. Any kind advice would be very much appreciated.
  14. Hey, thanks for all the replies. Does that mean the venturi-type Weipro 2011 do not need air pump? I have a 76 gallon tank, is this 2011 good enough? Btw, what's the website URL for the Weipro? Thank again.
  15. Hi all, How often do you have to change the air stone in those $30-60 air pump driven protein skimmers? And how much are these replacement air stones? Thanks in advance.
