could be a possibility of the needle wheel not acting effectively with particles obstructing it, you might need to open up and take a look at it.
-
Sump tank for most, i guess, unless you are trying to clean the sand.
-
It does absorb PO4 in the long run. It depends how much and how often your top-up regime is. If it is done in regular-small proportions, there might be a likely hood it is able to manage. However if you tend to dose larger quantities at one go it might be different. I have cheato in my refugium as well, but diatoms do appear when I am lazy by topping up in larger quantities then usual with dechlorinated aged tapwater.
-
Anyone wanna adopt ?
-
Does the cabinet has a vertical beam in the center ? Can a sump be put inside ?
-
The RBTA looks to be adapting very well, and nicer shots this time too
Oh, does the K1 really that effective ? Seemed to be a hype nowadays for it. Good circulating flow you have for the media.

Yes i am interested in this - Large Green buttons polyps: $4
PLease PM me your details. Thanks.
-
And also what your tank temperature set at ?
-
worst i am see red algae on my sand bed
I've got a feeling what you see might be diatom rather than red slime algae.
Pretty common if you use dechlorinated tapwater, I have my fair share as well in the past.
Common in starter tanks and will continue in dechlorinated tapwater.

That is a gorgeous looking grouper. Are you able to id it ?
Cephalopholis Formosa. Blue line grouper.
Yes, it's a blue line grouper and the sp name is correct. Some call it Cephalopholis boenack,
Thanks
Anyone for the snapper ?
-
snapper also can be eaten rite??
opps*
Can, wanna try eating an emperor snapper too ? heh
Anyway a little small for the table.
Prefer to see it swimming in a tank.
-
Lucky you said that..if not I will be rushing to your house to take the grouper...beauty one..
I know that bound to happen, that's why I state it that way

I've got a 6" regular snapper for adoption.
Been in my refugium for the past 3 months (given by a friend), very healthy and active.
Gonna revamp my tank and setup, hence giving it up.
Eats chopped prawns (even hard-frozen ones)
New owner should have at least a 3ft tank

Note ! It's the snapper that's for adoption and not the grouper

Haven't actually seen good claims of oyster shells over coral chips.
Aren't coral chips more porous have more surface area.
+1 for coral chip then.
Maybe TS would like to share his findings. Yes, much more exp than good grade live rocks.
-
TEM based chillers are not really efficient, though they take up less space. By looking at your setup, the iceprobe should fit with some mod to your hang-on filter.

Blue damsels are very greedy when comes to food, and having flakes helps. I have caught my blue and yellowtail damsels using that means with a prepared net. Flakes normally bring them to the top and that eases netting them.
-
May I ask, what's this model ? I'll like to know the capacity. Thanks
-
up....up....
-
Yes, you just can't rush with this. Else it would be more painful if it's done wrongly.
-
Have you been constantly adding more fishfood ? It seemed that the decomposition of that might have caused the bacteria not to catch up with the rate of the decay.
Did you notice any die offs from when you introduced the live rocks ?
Cycling is a process of patience, so it the aquatic hobby
do i need a chiller

What kind of livestocks and corals do you intend to keep in there? If it's a FOWLR tank, you can make do without. It also depends on the ambient temperature of your tank.
Let us know what you have in mind, it helps by knowing the contents you intend to put.
