thanks..
but what if its introduced together?
so how's ur true percs now?
only left with the big one?
or one big one small,
just that both not paired..
might have a chance if introduced together, left with the big and dominant one.
-
I've tried pairing afew times with my existing 2.5" true perc with smaller ones. But failed everytime.. I think maybe its because its harder to pair up once it's established in the tank.
Good luck for your pairing though

If yours is a new tank, it's case by silicate residue in the tank, sand, etc... It will eventually wear off after the silicates are exhausted given that no new silicates is introduced.
If it's an old tank, then think about that have you changed recently that might have introduced new source of silicates for the cyano to thrive on. Some possibilities, tap water, new sand, rocks, equipment, food, etc...
actually my tank had been running for more than 1year, or maybe 2years and i didnt think i changed anything recently. only reason i could think of is because my tank is near my window and sometimes the curtain is opened and sunlight will shine onto the tank. and i've been using treated tap water for quite sometime already.

Oh dear... what you have is a serious case of Cyanobacteria or better known as red slime algae...
This is a very comprehensive readup of Cyanobacteria...

Guys, i've been having this algae for sometime and its getting worse recently. The red algae formed on the sandbed goes away at night and i've tried stirring the sand to disperse them but it didnt help, in fact it worsen. As for the red+green algae on the LR i've tried pulling them out and it'll still come back. I've added anti phosp and improved the flow of the water and it still didnt help. hope that i can seek help to ID what algae they are and find solutions here.
Here's some of the pictures, hope it'll help..

a tunze nano seem to fit the bills. try rowa, they are known to have the best absorption from some where i read.
yea but tunze nano is too costly.. beyond my limited budget
anyway, how much does rowa cost?

i think i have at least 2 miniature seahares in my 2ft tank.. its less than 1inch and i didnt buy them. think maybe they popped out from some LRs?
though i still have algae problems..

u can try feeding with frozen mysis shrimps or brine shrimps.. or even henry gourmet..
think its always good to give fishes different treats.. some of the fishes will be attracted by different types of food but as for your clownfish shouldnt be any problem feeding pellets..
-
wow impressed with the explanation..
looks like u flared pretty well for your chemistry subject.. haha

its time for a MH bro..
-
wow thats a huge prey for the octopus..
to the awesome camouflage.

looks more like a wavemaker than a skimmer.

dont think there's any LFS thats selling already mixed saltwater unless u're referring to natural seawater.

my cleaner shrimp eats leftover pellets, baby plankton and henry food that dropped on the sand bed. I even saw the shrimp grabbing a pellet while it was sinking halfway.
so no worries think they'll just grab any leftover when they get hungry
