  1. just want to try to have a trigger to kill the mantis after that,..going to sell it..or give it away..

but heard from friend that trigger not so good....in killing mantis and crab

btw...what the length of your tank...

    any nice picture to share...

  2. Alternatively, put a octopus into your tank before anything else. Once you are satisfied that your tank is sufficiently cleared, remove the octopus.

i paid 10 bucks for the LR. they come in the big piece..and also quite a few in branches..

    these include delivery..

can i introduce a bigger mantis shrimp..let say in the size of 5 inches and above..

and let him kill the rest..of the habitants before adding the coral and fishes

  3. don't think that crab trap (mineral water version) > will work- mantis shrimp.

Bro... wear a thick gloves when you > searching for your 'osama'. don't play'' play '' with these thumbsplitters. ;)

any other alternative to catch this mantis shrimp...

i don mind spare his life and place him inside my sump tank..

  4. brother...

its a 3 ft tank in height...

i need to use a ladder to do aquascaping..

now....me gonna wait and see how...

getting a trigger fish before adding fishes and coral?

but i heard that trigger fish not so aggressive...

my friend..actually use a mantis shrimp to kill all his crabs and later throw away the mantis shrimp..

he is having a 2 ft tank in height.

  5. i just placed the Liferocks into my tank. :P

i observe that there are alot of Crabs, worms and also MANTIS SHRIMP inside the tank.

    :nuke::nuke:

The LR delivery man threw a 2 inch mantis shrimp into my tank right before me and even tell me this is something like a  "lobster"

thanks to him....i think i have to try to destroy those crabs and mantis shrimp before they can get my fish....

    :pirate::pirate:

what is the best way to kill them..

using the mineral water, chicken essence method..

btw..my tank is 3 ft in height.

  6. i am using a weipro 6000 for pump of my tank which is  3ft * 3ft (ht) * 2.6 ft

need to get more circulation,

    any recommendation of Tunze for a 3ft * 3ft (ht) * 2.6 ft tank.

    which model? :peace:

    how many piece :pirate:

where can i get nice rocks to cover up those "CCTV cameras"

looking at those cameras remind me of working

  7. zorden,

pls do not try sps even if u have cycled your tank. get familiar with reefing first. it's fun if u dun waste too much $$$ with little knowledge.

they either retain nice colours and grow well in pretty good tanks or just become a very polished white rock in a day!

of course there are exceptions like my buddies! amazing reefers

SRC is a huge resource for info and there's also RC too

    cheers

    thanks for the advice...

  8. maybe...but u'll be surprised by the parameter of some LFS...terrible...

read somewhere that NSW is recommended over salt mix, as they have better and parameter equilibrium..tat's y corals bloom better...

it happen to me tat, when i change my water with NSW, my corals enjoy better...

on sat, i changed my water with saltmix and saw a slight(a little only) diff in my corals, dun really open to their full potential...but no such prob with NSW...

so did you still continue to use NSW? any problem encounter so far other than the trouble of getting NSW....

  9. Back to the question, why they always open nice nice in the LFS? I thought our tanks should be better in terms of water quality? heh heh heh... :) Could it be LFS only use NSW??

i came across one farm that use NSW and their coral still the same after months.(6 mths)..and still growing well...and opening big...

    a nice majestic look...

their secret is bi weekly nsw change...

  10. wow beginners means people who have not kept sps before, not meaning new tanks. sps should start when ur tank is at least 6 months old and matured with excellent water parameters.

i regretted not believing it. is juz $ down the drain cos the sps will rtn/stn over time.

    :eyeblur: well....

that means i have to wait.... :cry2:
