  1. Dear guys, I recently has this greenish blue specks of , I think, algae growing over my rocks. Initially they seemed innocuous but I realized that they have the ability to spread over my zoas and onto other rock surfaces and corals. You can see that some have grown ionto my Fruit Loops zoas. You can also see some on the clam shell in the pic. What is this and any way to get rid of them? My emerald crabs seem to ignore them.
  2. Nothing apparent. But these worms tend to harbour parasites and bacteria, I think. Not sure if they are harmful to fish.
  3. Tried twice. The first was a trained mysis eating copperband from Henry. Tended to be slower than the other fish like tangs and hence mine needed to be hand-fed using tweezers to deliver it in front of its small mouth. The second one was purchased untrained. It refused all food except live tubifex worms. Yes, I had to purchase live tubifex worms regularly from freshwater LFS to satisfy its needs. It is, after all, my responsibility to keep it alive since I purchased it. I am not sure what these worms did to my reef tank, but I will not try a copperband again.
  4. Shaving brush plant is $20 each, about thumb sized though. $100 for 6. The other species are about $20 plus.
  5. Bought one last weekend, it ate a few Arctic Pods from Reef Nutrition. Ignored the live adult brine shrimp. Unfortunately it jumped out of tank this morning.
  6. Thank you guys for your advice. I think I will probably remove soon.
  7. This has been with me for more than one year, as a hitchhiker. Not causing problems and growing slowly, rather hardy thing. However I am just afraid it may be some kind of colonial hydroid but it does not seem like it as it tends to be encrusting, even encrusting onto the wall. What is it? The specimen is question is the large brown structure in the centre of the image.
  8. When algae form at the frontal aspect of the tank, it may be difficult to remove, as I see little space between front glass and coral.
  9. OK I am giving up on AquaLumens. The LEDS just gave up this morning. I have always thought that LEDs last long but this is the second time they gave up (including the adaptors, which were also changed).
  10. My two adapters for my two AquaLumen Mini 60 led lights are again malfunctioning. Anyone know where to get replacement ? I tried a generic one from the usual neighborhood shops but the lights don't light up fully. The original Aqualumen adaptor specifications are stated : "18v-- 3 A. " Tried contacting Aquarium Artist but no response. Anyone aware where to get replacement ? Thanks.
  11. Despite patronizing Iwarna for several years I still don't really know exactly who are the owners/workers: ok you have the auntie, the uncle and the younger guy in the frag room located inside...embarrassingly i dunno their names too. So I presume the rest are hobbyists/ "friends of Iwarna"?
  12. It is 72watts of LED for the 34l tank, which I think is more than enough. Some of the sps got bleached at the side facing the light.
  13. I have a 34l and is cooled daytime by fan and temp reaches 28-29c but the room is air conditioned at night down to 25c. I am able to keep sps and lps fairly ok. My lights are LED and give out minimal heat.
  14. Hi, just wondering if you were able to get a stronger pump (than the one that came with the tank) that can fit into the rather small back compartment?

It only took a few days for the delivery, goods all intact. If you order yourself it will be so much cheaper.
  16. Talking about introducing flatworms from LFS, anyone find CoralTx as a coral dip useful? I isolated some flatworms into a dish and find that they need high doses of CoralTx to kill them. Much higher than the recommended doses.
  17. Hi I am thinking of feeding my sps with Oyster Eggs and am wondering which LFS sells this. I was using Marine Snow but thought of doing a switch. Thanks!
  18. Yah I am also wondering where you site your skimmer. The compartments behind are rather tight.

Do seriously consider Eshine. Order it yourself online, very easy. Good service, delivery is prompt and pricing affordable. My Lumens Aqua LEDs start to go off within one year of use.
  20. Photosynthetic gorgonians from Carribean available at Iwarna. Also the rics are in excellent condition and good quality in terms of colour.
  21. Unfortunately ponding has occurred in iwarna just now due to heavy rain so didn't get to see the goodies. The blue spotted jaw fish moderately ex.
