  1. Need advice on my rock policy. at the moment mi LR when spread out in the tank from end to end covers oni about 30% of the height of the water level. I was meaning to bring in like 10 more kg and fill it up but am thinking whether is this advisable. So just need to ask whether what u guys/gals tink about rockwork and issit the more the merrier? we all know LR is good for breaking down the bad stuff, and in my opinion i feel that more LR means i can stack my corals higher too... but den again lower LR height will mean more space for fish to swim and probably more different height options for corals. My tank is a 30x18x18inch which aint veri big which i tot should have more rock so that fish and other critters will have more space to hide (tat way they wont commit suicide on me) Your advice pls... tks!
  2. i have on hand a bag of sand (i tink its 5kg) and Coralife Carbonate Hardness Controller that I would like to swap with somebody. All unused. Probably could swap wif a few pieces of LR/fire clown... Also thinking of selling my JBJ PL light hood for 2.5 feet tank. Its a combo bulb though. Bought at $150 selling at $120 (negotiable)
  3. Hi everyone, pretty new here and when i saw AT's tank, i tot thats a really professionally done tank! everything planned to the last detail.....bet it will be gorgeous when up....! speaking about gals and this SW hobby, i noticed that the fair ladies are missing in LFS? I never saw any single females in LFS, only lotsa guys...... looks like this hobby only appeals to guys eh? Tat said, I have a colleague who comes to look at my fish tank in the office (but when encouraged to get one herself, just cringes at the thought of cleaning, maintaining the tank) and another gf who acherly tot of getting starfishes and seahorses but dropped the idea later.....
  4. I dun suppose its algae right? hopefully its CA, since its encrusting my LR.....
  5. AFter adding the buffer, calcium and magnesium i noticed some growth in the coralline but also noticeably there were some areas which are green or even bright green like those kinda green mushroom color. Is that CA? Best thing is, i dun even have this color/species of CA thats green in the first place.
  6. hi how much is the sailfert test kit, and where can i get it? sea-chem buffer..... do u have the specific name? purple label only?
  7. Hi everyone, kinda new in this hobby and looking out for reliable calcium test kits to purchase. Any brands to recommend, prices and where to get it? Heard they are quite ex! Also looking at buffers. I understand that Sea-chem has a few of them, but i not sure which one...i remember only the marine buffer (which keeps PH at 8.3).... but besides this, there were also other sea-chem buffers, so which one is good? I have a DKH test kit, i suppose i can test DKH still right, even if i use buffer (ie. no need to get a PH test kit) Thanks!!!!
