  1. how will I know the trace elements are helping btw? When dose by trace elements, does the colours come up like within 2 weeks or so?
Bro, from the respond of your coral one can tell whether they are happy. Coral will tend to open bigger (Lps) when the condition of tank water is good. They even open when light are OFF.
  2. What brand trace element is recommended?
I'm using seacheam. Think bought it 3 years ago and found it in my store recently and so use it. Initially was still thinking whether it will cause any harm to my tank since it has not been used for the past 3 years. And the result was positive so far... I think all brand the same..
  3. Hi bro, I think trace element help. Just started dosing 2 weeks ago and notice all my coral open up bigger and more puffy. And see significant improve in colour too. But careful not to over dose. I dose a small amount on daily basic and have not done water change for 3 weeks where I used to change on a weekly basic. So far so good.

  4. Hi all, pls help!!! All my birdnest tip are starting to peel off

from the skeleton these few days and the base is bleaching bottom up.

Suspect is lighting related issue. Pls share your setting & photo period if you are

    Also using maxspect razor. Thks

    Water parameter:

    Kh : 10

    Cal : 440

    Phosphate : 0

    Ph : 8.1

    Temperature : 27-28

Lighting : maxspect razor (both A & B are set btw 30% to 50% for 8-9 hrs daily)

  5. nvr measure as only feed 10-20pellets a day and mysis 1-2times a week. not checking ca kh balance as sps are all frags now. wc 10% per week.
Water change nsw or salt mix?? I used to change with nsw and found that the parameter was unstable. So hav just started using salt mix.
  6. I dose calcium supplement and change 10-20% water once a week. Using pure distilled water and Red Sea coral salt mix.

Bro, so do you dose on daily basic. And mind to share what cal & kh supplement you are using??
  7. Too much blue spectrum from LED can bleach your SPS, as the beam can be very concentrated. I've done it with a 1W Solite Moonlight. Most SPS can handle being put straight under MH without acclimatization so it's all about the spectrum, intensity & spread. You may wish to try Algagen Zooxanthellae available at Iwarna. It contains live zooxanthellae which corals can absorb again to help recover from a bleaching event.
Thanks bro for the advise.. Will see how it goes for the next 1 week b4 deciding which option to take cos I have just reducing the light in the tank by covering most of the white LEDs to determine what is the root cause.
