  1. The piping will be done tonight. Will run 2 returns. Still need to get a skimmer. Current tank using a Macro. would like to get a backett skimer or needle wheel. Any suggestions? Lobangs? hee... running low on resources liao. The reno has drained me dry. Too ambitious liao. all tile in house changed except bomb shelter. I even changed the ugly toilet bowls and sink provided by HDB So now can bomb more comfortably! ke ke
  2. Well.. will be transferring the live stock from my current tank. The move will take a while. Dont wanna overload the tank. Its gonna be a reef tank. Softies and LPS.
  3. Thanks Bros! The planning for the whole house has been a 5 month long nightmare! So many parties working (Tiles, electrician, plumber, carpenter, Glass etc..) and I had to coordinate myself. Xiong!
  4. The overflow section has been covered by wood. This will be plastered and painted to look like the wall.

  6. The area in red will be cover, plastered and painted to look like the wall. this help camoflage the extenal overflow section from view from the living room.

  8. The space is actually meant for equipment. 2 return pumps will be placed externally. The large area behind the sump tank is provisioned for skimmer and skimmer both to be place externally as well. The chiller cooling drum will also be place under the tank near the return pump.

Normally I stop the return pump, drain the water from the sump, fill the sump with fresh water and pour salt directly into the sump. using a couple of powerhead to circulate the salt and water for a couple of hours. Seems like the easiest way. Anyone got easier way to share? hee... or lazier way I mean!

The chiller will be located in the balcony. the copper coolant tube will run from the balcony, behind the side cabinet into the tank cabinet along with the drainage water pipe. the drainage pipe was run to ease water changes as there's a drainage point in the balcony. hopefully this will encourage me to do more frequent water changes. keke...
  12. Up goes the hood - view from living room side. This is to be a full height tank. from the front the cabinet will look 9ft long. from the dinning room side would be 6ft.
  13. Yup. I saw the maker sample tank before commiting. the silicon work is very good. no complaints.
  14. Hee.. know what u mean. not sure which is more enjoyable. setting new tank or viewing mature tank. Seems like i like setting up more! ;P
  15. BB? Yup. it an external overflow. dont like to see overflow in tank. my existing has internal overflow. dont like.
