Is the sera kit easy to use? The seachem one is so complicated.

I have the green star polys growing aggressively. Will they sting other corals? Its already overtaking neighbouring rocks and thinking of how to control their growth.

yah, clowns are nightmares. I used to have damsels too. They were really a pain in the ######. Fierce little buggers.

oh yeah, long ago, i made the mistake of getting some other small clown fish. The maroon just grab it with his mouth and swung them around like a rag doll. SUper fierce.

My maroon used to small and cute but now its abt abt 1 - 1 1/2 inch. It nearly died abt 1 yr ago but was nursed back to health. What an ungrateful fish whenever i place any corals near his "home" it will rearrange it by topping it over. Clams, SPS, elegant, etc...anything not secured. Whenever my hand is near, he will suddenly strike. Very annoying.

I suspect its my maroon clown. Its getting very territorial ever since it grown. Saw it chasing a yellow wrasse and anthias this morning. Even bites the hand that feeds it

Hmm... i didnt add new new fishes. They were doing fine for 1 mth already and suddenly this happened. Will close the covers next time to prevent them from jumping again.

anakjoh, Had that experience with algae & star polyps. WHat u do is use a soft toothbrush to brush off the algae. after that it shld be ok. Valleyman, i dont think u would want my leather cause it will cover a lot of space. U can see it on the left hand side.

Anyone had this experience before? My flasher wrasse jumped out of my tank this morning and was flipping on the floor for a while before i cld get it back into the tank. But i dont think it manage to survive after the initial impact. And then just discovered another red/white wrasse lying on the floor. Must have jumped out of the tank also. WHats wrong with them??!

Yes. I agree with Tanzy. I am using a 150W 10k MH, my leather has grown to abt 25cm in diameter. Its covering everything else. Another softy is growing like crazy. May have to give it away soon.

Anyone used this before? Looks like a mini-lab in that box. So complicated just to do a Mag & Strontium test. Anyone know of a easier test kit to use? Thanks

Saw a documentary, takes abt 1 mth to grow a few cm. So takes abt a yr to grow 1 inch. i think depends on species also. I saw some growth sequence of Acro reefers and it typically took them 2 yrs to grow into a colony. As Yoda says "patience my padawan"

Yeah, happened to my coco worms too. It started with one big coco worm "puking" out this red slime. And then my other coco worms also started puking out white slime. Was pretty disgusting cause the red slime stretch across my whole 6ft tank.

Choosing reef tank over gf.

I am using a eheim pump to run water into my chiller. Am thinking of running a pipe direct from the tank into the pump and then out into the chiller. Since the water will be direct from the tank, it will not be filtered in anyway. Will the dirt from the tank clog the pump? thanks.

Have u tried Kent Turbo calcium? I heard the liquid stuff is not as concentrated as powder form. Kalkwasser is for maintaining calcium level, not really used for raising calcuim level. I have a lot of hardcorals also and the calcium intake is pretty high. I am dosing every alternate days. So am looking for a calcium reactor now it less tedious.

Is your PH test kit for marine fish also? Some test kits are for both and some for FW only. Happened to me before, didnt look and bought the wrong one.
