  12. Argh... i hate those crabs. Only managed to declaw a few of them. I have abt 4 of them running around with only 1 claw. But problem is that they learn to avoid "THE HAND" once an unsuccessful removal is attempted.
  13. Have been trying to catch the crabs in my reef for a long time already. And to my horror last nite, this particular crab was fanning out stuff from its belly. Very tiny little looking tapoles swimming all over my tank. Damn! I hope they dont survive and mature into more crabs!
  14. If u have tons of cash to burn, like Tanzy says, the ultimate Canon EOS-1Ds. 11 million pixels! True 35mm focal length, no multiplier effect.

  16. Mine is a casing type MH with 2 FL. I have two of these. One with 2 MH and the other with 1 MH. Both have 2 FL. Made in Taiwan. Cant remember exactly how much i bought it for. Can get it in most LFS. Am thinking of selling both of them though.
  17. I have a 6ft tank also. 3 MH is just right. Presently 150W but am thinking of changing to 400w.
  18. I have used arcadia actinic before and now using coralife actinic 03. The arcadia actinic is called marine blue, dont know if it is true actinic. IMO, i think the coralife ones are much better.
  19. Wish they had a calcium probe.
  20. This is even more cool! THE MULTIPARAMETER ION SPECIFIC BENCH METER With the ever-increasing depletion of fish stocks in the open seas, aquaculture has gained prominence and can prove essential to our future dietary needs. Monitoring and controlling parameters such as the oxygen level as well as pH and nitrate content in water is vital in ensuring a profitable fish production. An accurate control program can prevent disease, increase production and even reduce the premiums on crop insurance. Research personnel, fish farm operators and wildlife specialists now have one compact and easy-to-use meter to keep a close tab on the most important parameters in aquaculture. Simply take a sample of the aquarium water and place it in the unit to be zeroed. Add reagents to it and place it back in the C 203. The meter will then show you the relevant value in mg/L or µg/L in clear digits on a large LCD. No need to match colors, calibrate probes or change membranes. C 203 is supplied with 2 cuvets, caps, 9V battery, 12 VDC power adapter & instruction manual. Test Specifications Range * Aluminium 0 - 1 ppm * Ammonia LR 0 - 3 ppm * Ammonia MR 0 - 9.99 ppm * Chlorine Free LR 0 - 2.5 ppm * Chlorine Total LR 0 - 3.5 ppm * Copper LR 0 - 1000 ppb * Copper HR 0 - 5 ppm * Nitrate LR 0 - 30 ppm * Nitrite LR 0 - 0.35 ppm * Nitrite HR 0 - 150 ppm * Dissolved Oxygen 0 - 10 ppm * pH 5.9 - 8.5 pH * Phosphate LR 0 - 2.5 ppm * Phosphate HR 0 - 30 ppm
  21. USD216.90 excluding shipping. Says they have 25% off. dont know if this price is already discounted here's some writeup ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nitrates are present in nature as a result of the decomposition of organic microorganisms or due to their use as fertilizers. Nitrates reduce to nitrites, which in turn easily combine to form substances dangerous to man. A maximum level of 45 mg/L is established as a worldwide guideline for nitrate concentration in water. In Europe, the maximum consented level of nitrates in potable water is 50.0 mg/L, while in the USA the EPA has established a guideline for the maximum level of nitrate nitrogen of 10 mg/L (NO Œ 3 -N), which corresponds to 45.0 mg/L of nitrates. The HI 93728 kit provides you with all you need for measurement: photometer and reagents. Hanna offers the NITRATE HI 93728 with a range of 0.00 to 30.0 mg/L, resolution 0.01 mg/L Accuracy (@20°C/68°F) ±0.5 mg/L ±10% of reading HI 93728 Kit includes 2 cuvets, caps, 9V battery and instruction manual.
  22. Anyone heard of Hanna Instruments? Apparently they have probes for detecting ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate etc... no need test kits anymore. but kinf of ex.
  23. OK. Will try it out tonite. Tried pulling them out but they really stick hard to the rocks.
