  1. norman,

did u see my SS probe which is doubled up as reef hook? that is how i told AT how to DIY... :D

hmm i saw your SS probe but never have a closer look. Show me one day. Not during trip day i hope :P

lucky i never rig up near the exit hahaa... so i m off the hook from kel's clutches :P

  2. Think can omit the obvious. You need mask and regulator right ? :P

I'm still new to diving. So the only additional i bring is sausage, glove, and a camera.

No computer, no knife no torch yet. Maybe in the near future. Then I will start looking like a Xmas tree

  3. Just endure the 2-3hrs coach ride then stay overnight at timotel... prefer that kind of arrangement.... overnight boat.... brrr... so cold and can't sleep.

btw, picture can only collect on thursday. So you guys have to wait awhile :P

But here is a shot of the group. Leisure + OWD + Crews

    post-12-1080001059.jpg

  4. hahaha!! We are back!!! The vis was fantastic for the 2 days of dive. At least 10-15m of vis. Drift most of the time save air

Oh man!! Can't wait for the photos. Shot 2 rolls of film. :D

Pinnacles was an adventure. Who wants to experience to hang like a flag should try it

  6. I always look at the bright side of rain : Weather cooler, chiller no need to work so hard, save electricity bills..:lol:

But you are right. Quite tolok to dash around in the rain. Not careful, slip and fell and broke some bones, then no one look after the tank. :(

I'm not concern on that. I'm more concern I won't be able to see the beautiful underwater creatures this weekend

  7. Norman,

I've tried my best to get it free for u from hammerhd.. hahaha... now just have to depend on his goodwill lor.. hahhaa..

All these time since i owned a wetsuit, i have only rinse it even though i "contributed" to the saliinity in the ocean... darn.. my wetsuit must be very "populated" already.. with bacteria.. yucks...

Problem with washing it in washine machine.. my mom will scold me.. maybe when i bathe and wear it at the same time and wash.. ahh.. idea....

 erm depend on what sausage he talking about :P

the jetfins ah... promotional price lor.. 140.

  8. Well, I did consider that. I have not tried shooting more than 36 shots at one dive haha. :P

The thing that grip me is the price. Imagine the Olympus combination will cost 3x more and without a strobe!

This comes with everything even with a pelican case throw in.

And someone did say, buy cheap try it first, if don't like it or underwater photography not your kind, can still dispose it with a minor loss. But if buy expensive, erm... then will be damn heart pain.

Sigh.. think i will use my weekend in Dayang to think about it.....

  9. hi guys,

I was quoted a very tempting deal on the above camera. Come with strobe, a 3X close up lens, the camera n housing of cos. And the price ? Well, cheap enuff to drool.. ;)

But its film based, beside using for diving, can't do much. And have been thinking what can I use it for on dry land. I have my SLR and P&S DC for dry land. Won't be using this Reefmaster for it.

Should I be better off spending 3x more getting an olympus digital camera with housing or go for this ?

Any comments from people who use Reefmaster before ? Is the quality as good as its advertised ? :erm:

  10. hmm...ok, then like that I might just try out a roll of slides next week up at manado..see how it goes heehee.

isn't provia 100f that new slide to replace the sensia or something like that? maybe I got confused...been reading some stuff on film and it can be quite confusing..

I got my second hand cam off a diver from the finsonline forums. it looks used (obviously, since it's second hand) but the guy at the shop says the insides still look pretty good. pressure testing was ok some more, so I guess should be good to go..yay!

I was looking for a second hand digi cam with casing off the clubsnap forums too, but those things are blardy ex even after second hand. :(

provia 100f have been in the market for sometime already but there's a new velvia100. For people who likes the saturation of velvia 50 but a higher speed. :)

clubsnap ? haha.. well, don't think you can find cheap stuff there. The sale there are normally buy low sell high. Get what i mean ? ;)

  11. lona,

slides can be scanned to digital using dedicated slide scanner or u can send for slide to print if you like the shot. Cost about $1 for 4R.

The rest you can keep. Tho' slide film is more expensive bu the developing is cheap compared to print film. In the end its about the same but you dun end up having lots of "waste paper " :)

I use mostly fuji provia 100f for my slides. So dunno about print film. But the Supra is worth a try. cheap and good :) but tends to be more warmer than fuji film.

Oh btw, where you get the $350 lobang ? ;)

  12. heh...I'm bringing down my uk light cannon and strobe...should have more than enough light. gf's gonna hold the lc. B)

I'll try using asa200 film as well lar, but since my cam only has asa100 and asa400 settings only, I'll just set it to asa100 but I'll just set the aperture one stop smaller. hopefully it works out. :P

    *grin*

I think can't hope for strong sun lar... <_< ...seeing as how the weather has been these last few days. :(

Hey, since you got all the good things, why not try using slide films ? The color is more vibrant but exposure latitude is less forgiving.

oh, btw, spoke to my Malaysia colleague, he said, its not been raining for 2 weeks. ;)
