  2. do not fly without learning how to walk.... taming a SLR with the heavy housing is not easy underwater... I have tried the D70 with ikelite housing underwater.. and boy.. decided not to get any DSLR for the time being and gone with the 7070....

suggest you practise more with the 7070.... its a very decent camera...

as for the strobes, if u ask me, its a must for balancing the light and bringing out the colors, but you will have to know how to use it, and how to place the light....

think before you goes off and burn 1K on a strobe, y dun u read more about underwater photography and learn more about your 7070 first ?

anyway... 8 more hrs to the dive of the year  manado here i come!!!! :P

  3. not rich lah, that time i dont know operators asked me take this take that n im so kuku til i found out just leeching $$$... now im taking everything once and for all....

btw, have u tried philippine waters before? next summer me n friends planning a 10-day dives in 2 areas there. let me know if u r interested.

want to go palawan leh :P

  4. best way to get there is via budget airlines (i took jetstar asia) and from airport straight to the island, about 2.5-3hrs by coach then another hour by local boat. ive got a friend and she's arranging her friends for the trip as well....

what about weight ? Budget airline very strict on weight. Tho' Jetstar asia give 20Kg compare to other budget which give 15Kg. Its still not enuff for gear intensive divers like us... and excess is very expensive.

  5. Thank you dradtg, :)

guess will try to plan at least one nights at lembeh...

how is barracuda dive resort ? is it more 'dive' or 'resort' :P

    :thanks:

I will staying there come 18 june.. let you know then ? think shld be more dive la.. its near to bunaken compared to tasik ria....

btw, i saw a mimic last year which was my first time there... haha... speaking of luck...

  6. who you diving with ? I mean which resort... if you are staying over at the west coast, lembeh will be about 2hrs transfer.. from your resort

for 8 days, technically you will have 6 days of diving. Spend 1 day in lembeh, normally you will have 2 dives there if got time 3 dives and need to come back to resort before the sunset.. ya it gets dark from 5pm onwards.

the rest of the trip can spend exploring bunaken. There's alot to see... but if you like lembeh that much, can ask your resort to go back lembeh again the next day... just pay the transfer fee lor.. i think about USD20-30....

and trust me after u dive manado... no more malaysia :P or ratherr, you will those weekend trip boring ....

btw, when you going ? i will be there from 18-25 june :D

  7. aiya... cannot bear the long, torturous journey to dive in malaysia mah.. so better take a week off, fly somewhere and enjoy all the dives... :eyebrow:

red sea ah? i was in egypt for 2 weeks last year but didn't have the opportunity to go diving there... :(

manado i also wanna go, sipadan i also wanna go... and i'm also thinking of perhentian... other country i wanna go diving in is probably philippines. my maid was from cebu and i think she can put me up in her nice, big house (paid by her almost 10 years with my family @ $500+ p/mth).

come join me to manado in june. if u interested, let me know, see if can get you a seat ....
