  1. My main LED System - 312W LED Light set (3 x 30W 15000K Superwhite LED + 36 x 3W White + 36 x 3W Blue + 6 x 1W 403 NM Violet) 3W White LED two types: 1) 18 x 3W (pure white) - 6500K 180-200lm 3.0-3.4v 700mA 2) 18 x 3W (cool white) - 11000-12000k 180-200lm 3.4-3.8v 700mA 3W Blue LED three types: 1) 12 x 3W Blue 445-450nm 30-45lm 3.7-3.8v 700mA 2) 12 x 3W Blue 450-460nm 30-45lm 3.7-3.8v 700mA 3) 12 x 3W Blue 460-470nm 30-45lm 3.4-3.8v 700mA 6 x 1W violet LED - 400-405nm 3lm 3.0-3.8v 350mA 3 x 30W HighPower White LED - 2700-15000K 2700-3000lm 30-36v 1050mA BTW, I am thinking of the following supplementary lights to replace my 8 x 39W T5... 8 x 3W CREE XPE Blue 8 x 3W CREE XPE Royal Blue 4 x 3W CREE XPE Red 4 X 3W CS UV What do you think??
  2. End of last year 2011, I'd got an opportunity to visit one of the largest Pet and Aquarium show in Guangzhou..One of the main show case items there was LED Lightings...you could feel that there are lots of LED system developments going on and many big players and small player are coming up simple or advanced LED for the fish keeping markets. The following link is one of the LED manufactureor that caught my eyes. http://pharosled.en.alibaba.com The key features of their proudcts are quite impressive (taken out from their website) just to mentioned a few: 1. Initiate the world’s first lighting compensation system, adjust the light intensity automatically to achieve the energy-saving purpose, saving 20% more power than conventional led aquarium light. Save electricity bills, save money for the end user 2. Programmable timer function, replicate sunrise, daylight, sunset and moon light. Moon intensity automatically adjusts to follow the actual lunar cycle. 3. Manual functions. Light intensity is adjustable from 1% to 100%, color temperature and lighting mode can be adjusted at your will. 4. Integrated Wireless Control Module/Controller with followings functions: 1. Advanced Control For Sunrise/Sunset/Moonlight 2. Cloud Simulation 3. Lunar Cycle 4. Dimmable 5. Setting Night Time Length at Your Will The good thing about this LED manufacturer is that they are in the LED business and Reef lightings is just part of the business sector..so they have the brandwith and capacity to go beyond current LED to, may be, the future OLED technology (which are coming up very soon..) For those CREE LED crazy guys.... you now have an option...
  3. I got 403NM Violet.. blue (445-470NM)- Turquoise (I assuming is green LED) and red (LED)... am I rite??
  4. Any idea what supplementary lighting we need??? T5 with pink blub??
  5. I have the same thing when even I feed SPS with 5-in-1 coral food or doing water change or cleaning my sand bed... I think it has to do with change in nutrient level that induces SPS to feed...
  6. The following is the link to a DIY LED company in China where you can order and build the system based on your requirements and specification. All you need to do is to select your based configuration (dimension, SPS, LPS, planted, or fish only tank) and add additional items (such as temperature controller, timer, hanging kit, addition high 10W LED, etc.) to the shopping cart.. http://ledsea.taobao.com/ The down side is that they don't do system with dimmer control or colour temperture controller.. that's one of the reasons I option for another choice... It would be good if you can communicate with them in Chinese as they will able to recommend the right lighting requirements for your tank based on bioload and livestock you are keeping or want to keep.. They also started reefing as an hobby and had since grown into business when many reefers get them to do custom build LED lighting systems.....
  7. There are four cooling fans installed for the LED system.. When all the LED lights are in operation the fans are able to maintain the temperture at 48-46C... The four fans are configured to start cooling the system when the temperture reaching 37C and stop operation when the temperture is cooling down to 35C.. I fully agree with you that keeping a good cooling system or good design of heatsink is critical for LED system... Having a 10W or 20W high power LED is a good choice to start with..
  8. wah...bro thank for support the "Pasar Malam" movement... wanted get the monti...but too late...
  9. so far...no problem with me....
  10. Bro suuny03, My custom made 312W LED system was done by a reefer who I know in cmfish.com where he mades DIY LED as a freelance. Not recommend for fussy reefer and you need to communicate (PM and text) with him in Chinese. FYI, the full set including the shipping to Singapore was closed to S$1000...PM me for the contact if interested.. You will be suprised that China is very advanced in LED technology now and they are very fast at "Copying and improvise with new innovative ideas" just like its "China made Handphone". For the benefit of everyone who is interested in LED Technology at a cheaper alternatives, I will post are some of my recommendations here....
  11. Bro, You can try Sim Lim Tower... #03-14 ...call before going down... tel: 62952531 good luck
  12. Based on my understanding... each strip of Blue or White Led is controlled by one driver... so where are about six drivers for the blue and white LED... one for the violet 403NM LED and one driver for the 30W HighPower LED.. The blue LED and White is further connect to the dimmer controller. Each series of LED (e.g Blue, White, Violet, and 30W LED) has it own power swithch and all connected to the 3-way timer.. The dimmerable drivers used, I believe is the home growth waterproof less expensive type from SC Electronics (ShengChang) - model no KI-45700-A-DIM ..
  13. For the DIY LED system mostly are XREE LED : 3W White LED two types: 1) 3W (pure white) - 6500K 180-200lm 3.0-3.4v 700mA 2) 3W (cool white) - 11000-12000k 180-200lm 3.4-3.8v 700mA 3W Blue LED three types: 1) 3W Blue 445-450nm 30-45lm 3.7-3.8v 700mA 2) 3W Blue 450-460nm 30-45lm 3.7-3.8v 700mA 3) 3W Blue 460-470nm 30-45lm 3.4-3.8v 700mA 1W violet LED - 420-425nm 3lm 3.0-3.8v 350mA 30W HighPower White LED - 2700-15000K 2700-3000lm 30-36v 1050mA
  14. Thank you master Lim for your complements... though we never met but I believe some of the frags and SPS colonies might originated from you.....
  15. My current LED lighting system is made up of 2 LemenAqua UltraBrite light sets (with 180W of blue/White LED light for each set) and 1 custom build 312W LED Light set (3 x 30W 15000K Superwhite LED + 36 x 3W White + 36 x 3W Blue + 6 x 1W 403 NM Royal Blue). Hence, based on MH / LED comparison, I am theoretically replacing my old lighting system with stronger 4 x 400 MH lights with T5 supplements at an economical alternative. As a safety measure, I also supplement the current LED lightings systems with 2 sets of 6 feet T5 actinic blue lighting (4 x 39W each set) which I placed at the top of the tank hood... This is the FTS under the LED system.. The distribution of the light spectrum is quite well spread...
  16. The followings are the LED on 10-20% intensity for initial testing... The 3 x 30W LED lights were too bright ...
