  2. Hey guys, I've been thinking of stocking a tank with different kinds of leathers. I've been trawling the net but could not find anything on whether there would be chemical warfare between leather species. So far I've got a finger and toadstool leather in close proximity without anything going haywire.. need advise from experienced bros. Types of leathers that I'm considering Finger Leather, Yellow or Green Leather, Stubby Finger Leather, Hairy Leather, Rose Leather, Cabbage Leather, Devil's Hand or Finger. Generally anything that can be found in lfs.. cheers
  3. nice tank! wow, that are quite a few fishes in there. What is the maintenance regime like?

  6. I've been keeping a pair for about 2 years and they've grown quite a bit. Their backsbhave turned blackish and I not sure if it is some dietary problem or something else. They're fed ocean nutrition pellets w occasional mysis and homemade chopped seafood Cheers
  7. thanks for the replies guys yeah.. cleaning the skimmer neck does improve skimming efficiency. I'm not sure about the skimmer body though (mine is a cone skimmer and cleaning the body can be difficult)
  8. Does cleaning the skimmer body help with skimming efficiency? I'm growing chaeto in my sump so the insides of the skimmer has algae (brown and coralline), wonder if that affects skimmer performance..
  9. $6. Got 2 from ML last week, they cleared up my hair algae really fast, letting one go.
  10. hmm don't think so. It is a hard coral.. let me try a less over exposed picture
  11. I have one of these and a hydor nano Compared to a hydor Nano (which is rated at 900l/h) Hydor nano has a wider stream, but around the same velocity where they overlap. IMO should be alright for a 1 ft cube
  12. Safe with starpolyps, favia, mushrooms, leathers and majano anemone. Also gets along with a coral beauty. Eats pellets, mysis, nori. $20 collect at Holland Village
  13. Red legs, black claws that differ in size, blue eye-stalks. Eats hair algae and is quite shy. Its body shape reminds me of the electric blue hermit but I can't find anything off the net.. Picture taken with flash. I think the colors are a little washed out paiseh.

good idea! how would the float valve fail?
  15. lol, yes yes that is what I meant. I tried manually removing the brown algae and a really difficult to remove feathery green algae grew in its place -__-
  16. would changing water with distilled water get rid of existing hair algae? (as opposed to stopping new ones from growing)
  17. Like scarlet hermits or blue legged hermits. Preferably in the west. Cheers
