  1. got 3cm meh?

the latest shipment from ML are very tiny, biggest no more than 1.5cm.

guys, the griessingeri is now in a betta box in my nano tank, placed a few small pcs of LR for it to hide. I dose some rotifers into the box just now, his spikefin arches forward and mouth looks like its feeding.

I'm seriously trying my luck with rotifers, since everytime when i dose rtifers into the tank, my clownfishes and chromis will attack like siao. since they like them, i hope the griessingeri likes it too.

will try to get some copepods and see if its the same reaction.

    cross my fingers!

    ;)

    Hi Bro Diabulos,

  2. Hi Bro,

is because the food source grows on live rock that goby feeds on it.

unless you have one that already able to feed on live brine shrimp or even frozen if not in the end it will starve to death.

    cheers

  4. Here's my livestock:

    - beauty coral angel

    - cleaner shrimp

    - snail

    - feather dusters

    - signal goby (15-Jan-05 ~ 17-Jan-05)

    Hi Bro,

sorry i can't help notice the pic below in your message.

seeing signal goby you have in your 2ft tank with just 6kg of live rock. your tank is new and rock is too few to constant supply the food source it require for it.

  5. cleaner shrimp x2

    mandarin x1

    yellow goby x1

i bought 1x cleaner shrimp, 1x mandarin and 1x yellow goby from a LFS. the LFS packed all of them together. by the time i am back (2 hours later), all have UP-LORRY even before i open the packing.

i went back the next day, the kind LFS gave me discount for another batch of the same LS.

another time, i again bought 2x damsels and 1x cleaner wrasse all packed together by the LFS. reached home about 1 hour later, the cleaner wrasse almost UP-LORRY (luckily saved by simple air bubbling). i have since concluded that ...

lesson learnt: never pack LS together and must go home fast.

the second cleaner shrimp was acclimatised by adding water (50% one time) from the tank to the plastic bag. the cleaner shrimp again UP-LORRY.

it took me almost 1 week before plucking the courage to try cleaner shrimp again. i bought one first. this time, i used a bottle cap to add water from the tank to the plastic bag. i only add water again when the cleaner shrimp is running around the bag. i did this until the entire water in the bag is increased by 3 times. i then released it into the tank. it has survived since then. i since have also added another cleaner shrimp with the same happy result. i have since concluded that ...

lesson learnt: prawns are very VERY sensitive, contrary to what most reefers said about easy cleaner shrimps.

    newbie lizard

    Hi,

I can't help it. saw you mention mandarin. Hope yr tank have enough pods for the fellow.

  6. you may want to check your lighting and water parameter to confirm they are o.k

if all the rest of the coral are still doing well then could be others hidden problem

Is the coral still bloom currently? Add additive that require by the coral

if is lighting too bright move it to other place mentioned too by other reefer.

  8. not even live brine shrimp? is the Tang newly introduced?

    try red bamboo i think.

    http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Di....cfm?pCatId=392

    +++++ exract from web

Although Tangs will eat meaty foods along with the other fish in the aquarium, it is important that they are offered plenty of marine based seaweed and algae. This will strengthen their immune system, reduce aggression and improve their overall health. Offer dried seaweed tied to a rock or use a lettuce clip, and feed at least 3 times per week. Sea Veggies, Seaweed Salad and Ocean Nutrition are all ideal products and are very easy to use.

    ++++

  10. lowering the pump?

if my pump is on the bottom of the sump, my skimmer isn't skimming at all, have to put it about 3cm away from water surface. I think its crap design by Macro on this aspect because due to evaporation, the water level will fall to be very near the pump's inlet and there will be a loud ###### noise.

But i've also seen some reefers' macro and they have their pump all the way to the bottom and its still skimming well.

looks like there are a lot of lemons in their shipment.

    Time to change skimmer liaoz.

    hhmmm....AquaC EV-240 or the H&S F2001?

or the beckett from aquamarin?

    :off:

    Hi Bro diabolus,

    you got lobang ????

  11. Hi Bro,

how many days of your skimmer ruuning since you kicks in.

brand new skimmer will takes couples of days due to some oil on parts like pump will makes it kicks it later.

I have mentioned others ways to tune the Macro skimmer in my thread recently. search for it and PM me and i can talk to you over phone.

    cheers
