I using eheim 1260 in my 2ft, return from sump to chiller then main tank, w/o tee off. Find insufficient flow and likely to upgrade. As for the airline is to kick start the priming/siphoning. 13mm ball valve should be using a thread/slip in adapter, cement glue it to pipe should be ok. Attached a picture for better understandinh.

I had 3 burnt adapter on day 1 and had to bring to LFS to change it. Work fine for few months then controller spoilt. LL had to buy a new set as it is the cheapest variable speed WM. I hope the dealer here can bring in extra controller for sale or the latest twin controller. Sign....

Can use a fine nest to seperate the food from the thawed water. Then soak it in a garlic guard for few minutes if u want.

Had been very intrrested in the DIY. but the cost add up will almost same as a razor light set. You will need PSU, LDD, 5up board, heat sink, fan, LED and a controller. Shipping from US quite x too. Pro for DIY will be individual part is modular so if thing go wrong, can be easily replace.
