  8. hi, 1. maxi-jet, ocean free and a sweeping eden. 2. maxi-jet blowing across the back of my tank, ocean free pointed the the centre (both on the right side of the tank) and the sweeping one (on the opposite side) blowing from the back the the front.
  9. AT, er.... i've always acclimatise my livestocks b4 introducing them into my tank, so i dun think it's the osmotic or temperature shock that killed them.
  10. wei, nope, did not put any medication in my tank b4. but my nitrate level's definitely v high. guess that mite be the cause.
  11. anyone heard of it b4? care to comment? here's the link, http://www.saltaquarium.about.com/library/...ly/aa092702.htm
  12. hi wei, i understand that inverts (clean up crews) are v sensitive towards nitrates... if there's a algae boom, wldn't it be harmful to them? cos no matter hw many inverts (esp shrimps) i put in my tank, they'll not survive one day. i've given up on them totally for nw till i start re-doing my tank. care to advice me on that?
  13. hi, thks everyone for contributing ur ideas n advises, esp tanzy who actually posted n attachment to give me a better idea. will try out these ideas when i start re-doing my tank. thks again!
  14. hahaha... so it was u!! i agree with u abt the moderators there being snobbish. hate to say this but isn't that the way majority of americans behave? i used to go there for tips but not anymore cos the style of setting up n the attitude towards the hobby is different. rather surf ard looking at local forums where most of us share the same kinda thots. not trying to sa kar u, but thks for this furoms specially for reef lovers!
  15. hi, i read that thread oso... tho' the moderators know alot abt this hobby, but i felt that they were too harsh on that fella.
  16. ok... thks... i'll try it when i re-do my tank...
  17. hi, it may sounds stupid but hw do u guys normally stack ur LR? when i first started setting up my marine tank, i had abt 20kg+ of LR but most of it 'died'. found out it was due to the way i stacked them causing dead spots, hence the living organism in the LR died. now my tank's left wif watever remains that was unaffected. tot of re-doing my tank again so need some help from the experts here. thks!
  18. hw much for a 3ft tank with abt 10mm thick glass?
  19. hi, try freshwater dip. i did that once a day for a few days, nw my blue tang is free from ich. i did feed it with food soak in garlic juice oso.
  20. i read from sum other forums dat they use clothes peg to clip the seaweeds...
  21. i agree dat tangs are ich magnets. i've got a hippo tang. it got ich when i first introduced it in my tank but after a few freashwater dip, the ich juz disappeared....
