HI dodo, The reason for my 3/7 hours split is that i can get to see my tank in the morning, b/4 i go to work and the rest of the 7 hours to enjoy after work. Isn't that a good arrangement?

Hello, Got a question. Want to know if there's a difference between turning on the lights continuously for 10 hours and say 3 hours in the morning, 7 hours in the evening. Thanks Merry X'mas

No luck, cannot find. I guess turkey baster is better than those syringes from pharmacy because it can also be used to blow off sand that falls on corals.

Thanks nivlac. i more or less made up my mind to go for it(refugium w/o plenum). Just 1 last question, will the DSB built up nitrate in, that say 1 or 2 years time.(like a time bomb)

Hi guys, Anything that can reduce nitrate interest me. Thinking of redesign my sump as well. Can someone tell me what is the maintanance chores involve in such a refugium system? (whether weekly, monthly or yearly)

for mine, 2 weeks starting from the day fish start eating.

i quarantine my fishes, but there was 2 occasions, my quarantine tank was fully booked n i cant tahan, lucky those 2 fishes r doing ok. But dont takes risks, i know a friend who dont quarantine all his fishes n he now have hell lot of problems. What about to quarantine invertebrates to get rid of parasites? heard about it, but my quarantine tank dont have good light n chiler, how?

I saw my anemonie sitting on my inverted hemit crab this morning. look like the hermit crab is eating the anemonie from below. Can that happen?? Could it be the anemonie was already dead b4 hermit crab start eating it?? pls help, waiting to pass judgement to the hermit crab responsible.

It came with the LR , but Im not sure if it does grow on the tank glass b/c i clean the tank glass something like every 4 days, that's b/c of the fast growing, ugly greenish brown algae. I guess even if it does, i would have clean it b4 it is visible to me.

Hi Morgan, The colour is pink or purple, tiny dots that grow on the wall of overflow box.

i m all confused, i read somewhere that if u have coraline algae growing, it means that the water quality is good. i have those beautiful alage growing on in my tank, but my nitrate reading is 25-50 n calcium is barely 320! can someone pls enlighten me?

Interested about using natural sea water. How to go about it n how much? per litre?
