  1. Hi fellow reefers, need some help here.

Just ordered a large amount of NSW, more than enough for my water change.

I was just wondering is there anyway to store the unused NSW at its optimum quality.

Can i keep it in a jerry can with either a powerhead or air pump running inside ?

Will it work and how long can i store it for ?

  2. Carbon dosing? Don't need to take out the ceramic rings...unless you need the space for something else. As long as it doesn't trap debris or restrict the flow then there isn't any negative effects I can think of.

you're spending alot of money on chemical filtration. Personally, I don't use stuff like purigen. Good carbon and rows phos is all you need.

Why you need two layer of filter wool? I've been using one layer throughout my years of reefing.

Thanks a lot for your advices ! Anyway, do i have to take out my bags of ceramic rings and biohome to rinse them occasionally ?

If so, how often do you guys advice me to do so.

  3. Hi fellow reefers,

recently got a multi banded pipefish from CF, gorgeous looking little creature. I love it !

Problem is, it not eating anything, i've tried hikari frozen mysis and henry's food but it still doesn't respond to them.

Can someone please tell me what should i feed it !?

  4. Hi hi, what fish are you keeping currently?

    thanks for your response

yeah i'm using red sea airlift

i have flasher wrasse, dragonet, pipefish, clownfish, 2 anthias, yellow wrasse, flame angel and a seahorse, is that too much for my tank ?

Hmm, i dose bacteria every 3 days would that help the population of the bacteria ?

Are u using any hang on skimmer?

Afraid that bioload a bit high, and the bacteria in the filter media, taks a while to grow.

    :)

Ps: I would just use biohome and remove the JBJ Ceramic Rings and carbon beads. :)

  5. Hi guys, i have a 2ft cube with an IOS been running for about 1 month with about 3 casualties. I've heard a lot about people saying that for filter media, its always better to overkill than to underkill, hence i went for the overkill.

    Wool

    Wool

    Japanese Mat

    Carbon beads 1L

    Seachem SeaGel 1L

    Seachem Purgen 500ML

    Bio Home Plus 1Kg

    JBJ Ceramic Rings 2 KG

    Seachem Matrix

My filter media compartment is jam packed with filter medias, my question is, is there any negative set backs of having an overkilled filtration media compartment ? Appreciate some advices.
