  2. my tank is 5x2x2 so i think the only one i can get is the prizm pro. thinking of that but the macro hang on type looks good too.
  3. i think his is in-sump type. i need a hang on one cos i got no sump.
  4. hi, looking for macro skimmer, anybody knows where got sell? looking for hang on tank type.
  5. Anybody know where to get nice medium to small sized lions? either volitan or antennata. thanks
  6. arofanatics website got a tank calculator. you can try there
  7. wah so jia lat, if rust too much, i'll have a 5ft waterfall.
  8. its actually all painted black already. dunno if its WI or what. its not those typical WI stand.
  9. wow bro benz thanks for the calculations!! my stand is those 2inch black square type stand. it looks pretty solid and is meant for 2 tier so i think it can hold. planning to make it a lion, frog fish type species tank with about 4-5 fish, is this considered a high bioload?
  10. thanks for the info. my tank is from davidsws so the workmanship should be good and my tank is less than a year old. any recommendations for a hang on skimmer for 5ft? not keen on modifying my tank for sump etc.
  11. hi bros, i need to know how much sand and LR a 5x2x2 bare tank with euro bracing (12mm) can hold. the base does not have any extra bracing, just the base. thinking of converting my aro tank to marine so i was thinking whether the tank can hold a 4 -6 inch DSB and sufficient live rocks for FOWLR setup. any bros with similar experience, i would appreciate your advice. cheers
  12. check for leaks in the cannister or piping. if not just shake the cannister a bit to dislodge the bubbles
  13. so technically, i can just have a dsb and LR with a damm powerful skimmer (hang-on) and some circulation and aeration and can do away with the sump?
  14. you should get shut off taps so that when you clean it, you close the taps which will trap some water in the piping. when you connect back the cannister, open the taps and the water will start flowing in due to gravity. alternatively you can suck from the output end to start the water flowing.
  15. i notice that for marine tanks, the sump doesn't really contain any filter media besides sand and some filter wool. then what's the purpose of the sump?
  16. wow! that's alot, what thickness is you 3ft? 12mm?
  17. my tank is 12mm thick. usually how thick are 5ft tanks for marine? i read somwhere that usually put about 0.5kg of LR per gallon which comes to abou 75kg for my tank. can tanks really hold such weight?
  18. thanks for the advice. i looking for a less complicated alternative. worst come to worst i get an i-box. anybody here have a cannister setup? would like to know what equipment is needed for a fowlr setup.
  19. hi, i am thinking of converting my 5x2x2 aro setup into a fowlr setup. the tank is a bare tank and i'm gonna be using my existing cannisters (1 x 2026, 1 x 2217). need sum advise on the other forms of filtration suitable for my setup. e.g. dsb , skimmers etc. my tank has euro bracing as well, so do the hangon protein skimmer fit over the bracing? also, can anyone recommend any protein skimmers with external pumps? don't want to have so much stuff in the water.
