Updated my firmware yesterday, super easy.
- Go to AI support page
- Download the latest firmware into your PC
- Disconnect the USB connector from my power point and plug into PC
- A window (external drive) will open showing the old firmware
- Delete the old firmware
- Copy the new firmware from your PC and paste it into the external drive window
- During this time your controller will show "Updating Firmware"
- Disconnect the power cable from the controller
- Disconnect USB cable from PC and connect back to power point
- Re-connect power cable into controller
- Done

Can I run both Rowaphos (bagged) and bio pallet in the same FR?
Try not to as the bagged rowaphos will prevent bio pellet from fluidising. Bio pellets require good fluidizing in order to perform optimally. Best is to have bot in separate FR.

I already have a FR running bio pallet and do not want to set up another FR running Rowaphos. It is effective if I bagged Rowaphos and placed it directly under the return water?

If your PO4 is not really high and you are able to manually shake your bag daily, it should be alright.
But if your PO4 is high, its better to use FR as it will be more efficient.

Are u keeping sps? Able to sustain the color and growth ?
Kept a few frags, I did not used the aclimation mode when i set up and my sps base colours bleached but polyp colours remains. Its now about a month and base colours start to comes back.

I am now using 2 x AI Sol and am considering adding 1 more Sol to my current tank 4 x 2.5 x 2.5. I find I need 3 Sol to cover my tank.

Many years ago there was a reefer Tineng using it. But have not heard of anyone using it now.

Boiling water will only reduce oxygen in water does nothing to reduce ammonia,nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, silicate etc.

Solid reliable timer especially if you using for high drain equipment such as chiller, MH etc.

its been sometime I have not updated my thread cos I've been travelling intensively...
havent been buying any coral or fishes these couple of months while i contemplated my situation.
since i havent been messing with my tank, my hand has been getting better.. still no fingerprints yet, but at least no painful cracks.
the flatworm is more or less resolved too. heng ar.... took a couple of encrusted sps to dip and nothing came out.
in general, the sps seems to be thriving. but the LPS isnt doing as well as i would like though.
i've lost some sps and many zoas in the couple of months battling flatworms and nudis... and the heartpain and frustration really hit the pits.
now its 2013 and a new year spells promise of hope and inspiration. Hope that I can achieve greater things in the new year and be inspired by great events and greater people.
