You are right hermit. UV helps a lot in treating Ich. I have also came across with this problen and the UV is one who fulfill my needs and help me reducing Ich.

Then you need a special care of your other plants or things in the tank... Try to get rid of that brown jelly pest and wash your tank with clean water with medicine to protect plants.
