  1. Can anyone advise where I can get sand sifting gobies (e.g. Diamond watchman or Tiger watchman) Thank you.
  2. Really!!! There are invertebrates that stir the sand... will they topple the frags? (I did not glue some) Let me google them. Thanks.
  3. I also suspect my sand bed as another culprit to my nutrient. Every time I stir it, my skimmer will product more waste.
  4. Eheim Filter Media Set for 2213 Here is a simple and very cost effective starter pack including all the filter pads and media you need for your 2213 filter:- The set contains:- Ehfimech x 1 litres. Removes all coarse and fine dirt particles from the water Substratpro x 2 litres. For quick colonisation of bacteria and faster decomposition of toxins. Coarse filter pad x 1. Large pore sponge giving bio-mechanical filtration and even water flow-through. Fine filtration x 1. Before the water re-enters your aquarium fine dirt particles are trapped in the fine filter pad Suitable for 2213 Classic Filter.
  5. Thank you for the great advice, I am cleaning the canister filter once a week, I will increase to twice a week. Yeah, I have been adding livestock every week. I will need to stop until my tank nutrients are in check.
  6. Agreed that the nutrients is high... some post mentioned that canister filter (I am using) is a nutrient factory. Guess the only thing left is to change to a sump?
  7. Can anyone tell if the SPS in the picture is still alive? I don't see any PE for some time. SPS 1 (top) SPS 2 (bottom)
  8. Yeah, I did consider dead spot (low current) but my wave maker is whipping everything around (especially the sand). So, unlikely.
  9. Thanks, I suspect my nutrient level too. Tested with API test kit on Phospate, Ammonia and Nitrate but the reading is always good. Added a Phosban reactor to combat phosphate. Added a HOB mini refugium with cheato and some LED lights... Hoping it can help with nutrient export. Currently using a surface skimmer but the intake in below the surface, could that cause the skimming to be ineffective? Thanks for all the great advise.
  10. Thanks for the advice. Will try mysis next. I am reducing the lights to combat red slime. Tried seaweed on clip today. Broke in pieces and whipped around.
  11. The yellow Tang only nibbles the live rocks and is not interested in the pellets I deposited for the pass 3 days. Concerned about the PO3 and NO3 created by the unconsumed food. Red slime algae seems to increased. What should I do?
  12. Noted, frozen mysis. I have some oyster feast... will that be okay? Some say feed Nori... what is that?
  13. Acclimating the Yellow Tang. Can anyone advise what should I feed it with? Please let me know the brand and where I can get it. Thanks.
  14. After consulting fellow reefers, I decided to add a Yellow Tang to help with the algae. Also added a phospate reactor to help control the algae. Hope the Tang survive my 6 week old, small tank.
  15. Will try to get a clearer shot. The sellers say its okay even after I mention its a new tank. They recommended these "easy" (SPS) corals. Was a worried as the "tentacles"/polyp did not review in the first few days. Add a cauliflower like coral recently. Hope they survive.
  16. Week 4 - Zoa & SPS frags Can anyone ID what is the SPS frag? Hope they survive.
  17. Found out that the Eheim 2213 external filter flow rate is 440 litres per hour but the Teco TR10 chiller require a minimum of 180 gallon per hour (680 litres per hour). Ended up getting the Eheim universal (1200 litres per hour) to pump water to the chiller. Did not want to risk a lower flow rate for fear that it may spoil the chiller. Any comments?
  18. How much lighting is too much? Currently I set my lights to: 7am - 10am (actinic blue) 3hrs, 10am - 5pm (super sun) 7hrs, 5pm - 9 pm (actinic blue) 4hrs. Total 14 hrs.
  19. After about 3 weeks of waiting, my nerves got the better of me. Hope the zoas and mushrooms (as recommended) survives.
  20. Thank you, never knew there is such a thing as pods in the tank. Guess they must be beneficial.
  21. Going back to get more live sand and live rocks to cycle for 1 more week. Noticed really tiny creature on the sand. Absolutely no idea. About the length and 1/2 the wide of the hyphen "-".
  22. Agreed, but what to start? Saw Zoos, very nice frags and some mushrooms. Zoos looks so colorful. Having doubts if my T5 is sufficient. I guess ultimately it will still be the wallet that is deciding.
  23. Noted, will look for a test kit that contains ammonia test. Did a marine/corals "marathon" today... Went to Pasir Ris Farmway 1,2,3 then Aquamarin and the fish channel. So many places to get so many types of corals. Don't know where/what to start when the tank is ready. Guess it is back to more googling.
  24. Nope, unfortunately the test kit doesn't come with that test.
