How long have you had the peppermint shrimp? Mine took weeks before it start taking aiptasia. Thereafter it has wiped out every poly of aiptasia. It’s a nocturnal creature.

I have just harvested some cheato and like to trade it for those high quality transparent plastic bag you get from LFS when you purchase corals or fish. I need the bags for future harvest and I want to recycle those plastic bags. Please give me a few, bigger better (can pack more), okay?

Hi all,
Have the same issue and like to seek advise.
Set the chiller at 25 deg celcius. Chiller kicks in at 26 deg celcius. Within 2-3 minutes chiller displays 24.9 deg celcius and stops. Measure tank temperature is 26.4 deg celcius (1.5 degrees different). In 1-3 minutes, the display of the chiller shoot up to 26.4 deg celcius and chiller kicks in. The cycle repeats.
The chiller pump is 3000 litres per hour running at 3/5 bars speed. Adjusted the speed up and down but it doesn’t seem to help.

These are the perils of running a nano. Any mistakes or oversight leads to drastic circumstances. It happens fast and furious.
I must admit the days of nano for me is coming to an end. Especially when the blue tang has outgrown this nano (from 1 inch to 3/4 inch)
Having said so, I have had a great sense of satisfaction when the tank was doing well.

Double whammy!
Few days ago, I discovered the solenoid was stuck in the on mode. I had no idea how many days the calcium reactor was running continuously.
Fishes seems okay but one of the crocea clam did not open up. I fear more casualties soon.

I had an AI prime HD and an Aquazonic 2 x 24W T5 with ATI purple & blue plus. While doing some maintenance, one end of the T5 fell into the tank. Subsequently, it trip the power when I try to power on.
I had to remove the T5 and rely solely on the AI Prime HD. Btw my nano is only 40 cm deep.

Long story short, after removing the 2 tube T5 light due to breakdown, I depended solely on AI prime HD. Unfortunately, it wasn’t strong enough so there we many losses. Now the survivors like zoanthids are craning for light.

Suffered heavy casualties due to T5 breakdown and decided on only using AI prime HD.
Another reason could be rapid growth of blue Tang.

I think your tank have other “better” food for the peppermint shrimp so they are not going for the Aiptasia. I got mine from LCK201 and believes they had train the peppermint to eat aiptasia. They have a tank of aiptasia.
