  1. Haha! You joking right? Equipment still cannot touch other reefers! Anyway got equipment but no know-how also back to square one. Still what you said is true...couldn't have done it without the help and advice of weisoon and others who gave good advice.
  2. Now I know how you're financing your new tank! Wah piang! Your own little harvesting farm!
  3. Aiyah! I still green compared to you guys ok? Haven't even delved into SPS yet leh! Can see and admire from behind the glass only. Still need alot of guidance! Had alot of help from weisoon though as well as very sound advice from weileong and many others. Must have bugged them crazy with my queries!
  4. No sand storm so far...Returns aims at upper half of the tank. lower half by the tunzes. Now those are the guys creating the sandstorm...re-scaped one part of my sandbed. Don't have a pic of that right now but will post one when I drop by my flat again sometime soon. The flow seems ok to me...will need expert opinion when the gurus drop by. How? Invitation open.
  5. Haha! That's the spirit! Good job on the repair and even greater friend you've got!
  6. Hi acidjazz, Just a small setback...don't be too disheartened. Think of it this way, you've got all the space in the tank to work with. When I had to enlarge the hole in my OVERFLOW-BOX, had only abt 5"plus width to work with...and had to do balancing act on a stool in the tiny equipment area beside my tank. You can imagine the frustration and back-ache! Spent abt 3hrs just to remove the existing pipe, scrape the silicon and enlarge (grind) the hole by 5mm all around (10mm altogether) Just think abt the beautiful set-up you're gonna achieve.
  7. I see...will try. Thanks! Sorry for hijacking your thread RAV-65.
  8. Wow! 3' width! Good decision! Another TOTM coming up soon! Good idea placing the overflows on both sides rather than behind for ease of access! Might wanna raise the height of the back-wall of the overflow. I'm having some water spray due to the high water flow into the overflow box. Anyone got any suggestions?
  9. The pumps are powerful enough...at least for my tank coz I'm using 2. Take note that they're not pressure-rated though since they're only for return and chiller. Reefdepot should be bringing in the pressure-rated versions if I'm not wrong. No complaints so far. Noise from 2 pumps still very minimal compared to 1 md55. So when are you gonna start running your new tank? Can pm me the price of your tank and equipment? Cheers!
  10. Hi acidjazz! Almost there! Just gotta hook up the FR and CR. Beckett should be fired-up this sat. How abt yours? Looking good leh! Very neat job...your wiring! Good idea getting the switch box.
  11. The tank viewed from the living room. Phew! Almost there!
  12. Waterfall in the return portion of my sump.
  13. ...which has caused water splashing into my overflow-box and resulting in some water spray. The back wall of the overflow-box should have been made slightly higher. Wil have to remedy this to prevent salt spray onto my equipment. Any suggestions anyone?
  14. Now pump2 (to chiller and tee-off to FR) running only.
  15. Turbulence created with only return pump1 running (direct to tank).
  16. The reservoir located outside the cabinet. Will have the carpenter make a box with a door to cover it.
  17. Hole drilled into the wall of the cabinet for the dosing pump inlet.
  18. A little 8mm hole drilled on the reservoir for the dosing pump to draw water from.
  19. Next up! Had a water top-up reservoir made.
  20. View of the whole cabinet. Wires wires everywhere. Gotta take time to route them nicely.
  21. Completed and installed in the cabinet. Used black wood-grained laminating paper all over the stand to go together with the rest of the cabinet.
  22. The holes drilled out. Phew! Saw-dust everywhere!
