  1. I just set up my 2ft. I calculated is around 95l. Im using compact 3000. The flow was crazy. I have to use the lowest setting. Even at lowest setting output, i got alot of bubble, splashing and noise at the first compartment of the sump coming from the drain pipe. Now still looking for solution to reduce the bubble and splashing. The return pump was recommend by the tank maker.

Wondering why the need to use up to 3000l/h.

  2. I'm using the eheim compact 3000 in the sump for my new 2ft tank for return. Very powerful for a 2ft tank. I have to adjust to the lowest flow output. Now I have a issue, the incoming water from the overflow straight to the sump first compartment is too great that cause alot of noise and water splashing. I have to solve this before i can start my cycle. Anyone can help on this?

  4. I am also using a fan and the temperature drop from 31 degrees to 28 degrees. On cooler days, i get up to 26.5 degrees. I using the ikea timer to run the fan for 30 mins, off 1hr, and so on. It works and the temperature never drop much and will maybe increase the lifespan of your fan and decrease evaporation rate. I top up once every 4-5 days.

Nice tips using the ikea timer.
