  1. My anemone keeps runnin around.

Sometimes at my water flow outlet, most of the time behind the LR. Sometimes below LR.

Super irritating, how to stop it from going behind and below the rocks? If they hide i cant seems to feed them, even using a pipette also hard to reach them.

the worst issue with anemone. i did the plucking like you do and killed a few. sometimes, those nice ones just wont settle down at the place we like. those not so nice ones will usually sits in comfortably at a prime place. well, thats anemone:lol:

  2. there was once i probe a guy from a fish shop if those coral food they are selling really useful or in fact is the coral even getting it. the answer is gold. they never once dose such coral food in their display tank before. and all their corals is as beautiful and healthy, of cause. so, it's really grey if such "food" is even needed in the first place.

  3. Just to share what I do, may not be 'proper', but anyway, using goniopower every 3 days. Off the pump, target feed over the corals that you want to feed.

Amount I guess is a gd question, I'm always tempted to put more but am cautious to foul the water. So my amount is about two squirts with turkey basher.

    goniopowder?

  4. means i suay:lol: anyway different set up will have diff outcome too. update pics when you are done bro. happy reefing.

I gonna setup a new 422 tank with sump. I wanna ask usually how u all startup with the water. Get NSW or DI water+salt? I heard my frenzy use tap water but later will have algae problem. If using NSW, usually how many packs is needed? I calculated 422 is bat 432L + sump should be around 500L ba.. Thanks in advance.

been using tap water for my tanks. algae boom is a norm in all new tanks no mater what water you use. but if you gonna use tap water plus salt for new start up, minimally cycle it for at least 1-1.5 months. seawater for a faster process.

  5.

No really.. My frenz use tap water with LR to cycle for his 2ft and 4ft, both cycled for 3weeks without dose bacteria..

maybe im unlucky. tap or seawater, both boom in my case. 3 weeks for tap water is somewhat risky. i wasn't the patient type, did not heed advise from the shop and cycle for approx 2-3 weeks only, my tank crashed. total live stocks gone in that crash cost me a bomb and within days only.

  7. Hey Bros,

So, actually my water temperature has always been stable, like 26.8 to 27.2.
But, I have actually noticed that my Phosphate were 3mg/l...way too high and my Nitrate around 50. Too high also, over feeding; Maybe it explains the reaction of the corals, dying.

    Your thoughts?
Now oversees...the tank is operating alone...hope it will be fine when I am back.

bro try to keep your temp within 26 and not above 27. my 2 cents worth.

  8. Ok so I ended up having to restart my tank because the ich is very much blooming in my tank. I'm decomming to restart again. Taking some photos to remember my set up.

bro did you try to does copper to cure the ich?

  9. I have always utilised more blue than white. From LED to t5 now.

My previous maxspect runs at 100% blue and 40% white for 14 hours.

My current sunpower dimmable runs 4 blue plus and 2 actinic for 14 hours and 2 coral plus for 6 hours.

Colours still good even with more blue than white

    thanks for the info

  10. I am not an expert and have been running my tank for close to 2 years. I am using the maxspect nano and running at 60% white and 85% blue daily for 8 hours from 3.30pm to 11.30pm. I prefer more blue as I can see the corals fluoresce and I believe blue light can penetrate deeper into the tank

agree bro. what really important is what that soothes our eyes. thats the whole purpose of this hobby. of cause no harm to the corals too.
