My tank has been pretty stagnant for a while since ive been busy with ns, had algae issues as well. But i managed to find a weekend to rescape and get some additional filter media and additives! Finally trying out sps, starting with the easier ones! Hopefully i can colour them up and move on to more challenging ones.

I have a 1 ft cube, finally managed to get the nitrates down, if its stable over the next couple of weeks, was thinking of trying with a pink birdnest. Since my tank is so small, was thinking of just keeping bn. Are montis easy to keep as well? Do share some pictures on some awesome bn pieces and where I can get my hands on them. Thanks in adv!

I'm looking for a pink/purple coral to add to my collection. Checked out the plate corals at GO but not looking too good leh, saw a super bright pink gonio at iwarna's frag room but nfs... Anyone knows how much its gonna cost and where can I get it? Would be great if you guys can post pic of your nice bright coloured lps as well!

I do but I boil and leave them over night, heard it works. But I'm gonna get anti chlorine and see how it goes. But as of now, my nitrate level is good enough, will see if those phosremover liquid helps also

Will not be home for 12 days, so I hope everything still goes well! Then can stock up a little after cny

Just a slight update, my hammers are thriving and everything else is looking good except my darth maul zoas and fishes. Clownfishes couldnt fight off the itch and the yellow wrasse aint looking too good. Nitrates are at an optimum level of around 5. Anyone knows if darth maul does better in high/med light? Still cant figure out why its not opening fully.

nice tank... welcome to the world of nano reefing
Yeah! I somehow prefer nano reefs even though its harder to keep the parameters stable.

2months quite new. Common to have algae bloom. Most likely caused by the nutrient from left over food. Maybe you should cut down on feeding a little bit?
Hahah i dont do any feeding, took out the fishes due to itch and a spike in nitrate. So i'm trying to keep it stable before adding in anything else. I'll try to take down the nitrate, hopefully it helps the algae problems too.

Wish you luck haha . All the best
Thanks bro!

Thanks for the feedback guys, will probably test out anti-chlorine, otherwise I'll just get DI water from Iwarna. As of now, still not sure if investing in a DI filter is necessary

I buy DI water from irwana at $1.50 per bag. Bout 10liters of water for bag... enough for my 1month fresh water toppup.=)
Cool, I didn't know that. Will probably need to get 1 bag weekly though, my evaporation quite high. Its a good thing, I live near the farmway i guess.

How old is your tank? You can keep blasting them using turkey baster. I dose using fauna marin nutri reduc. Now my algae growth rate nearly 0.
About 2 months. Will check the product out, thanks bro.

Has anyone seen any LFS selling a pink/purple/red plate? Short tentacle. Not the standard green/orange ones.

Saw a couple at AM. But does it really work? Read that it doesnt help much.

Nice and simple set up bro!

Cool, something new to learn

Has anyone succeeded in using boiled/overnight tap water? Low nitrates, algae etc. Or is it really a necessity to use mineral water or rodi

Currently i only have 2 normal clown fishes. Any cool/nice looking nano fishes to recommend? Probably wanna add another 1-2 more, depending on if i can maintain my nitrate level
