  5. Yes I have LR and bb media. So should I buy normal sand or live sand. Cos doesn't live sand have bacteria to help start up tanks. So it's OK to put live sand?
  6. Hey I have a question on sand. My tank is fully running with fish and corals. But I'm currently using large grain sand which is like "gravel". But I would like to change it to the finer sand like those at the beach. So my question is, if I were to change my substrate, will my tank water quality change drastically and will I have to cycle the water again??

  11. Hey everybody, want to trade my Ostracion solorensis for a small Powder Blue Tang or corals. It's about 3 inch long. Just bought it this month. Pm me if you have a offer. It's not reef safe and I'm going to keep corals soon =)
  12. How about the Ammonia. If it's still present the Nitrite will be there.
  13. Woah! so nice and colourful. Must have cost a bomb to have it.
  14. I'll add filter wool and remove any decaying matter on the tank.
  15. No. They were introduced separately. I start my tank off with 2 first as tester fish. Then put in more a week later of they don't die. But you can also try by introducing chromis into the tanks in large groups, so 5 fish and 5 later. But that's of you don't mind having lots of chromis. Sure you will still have a odd one out.
  16. Yes my sand is turning brown too. Going to try and minimise my light.

Hi I would like 1 bag please.
  18. I'm no fish behaviourist but I think they need to start off together in a new environment to set their dominance and protect each other as a school. That's what I've observed from my chromis.
  19. Hey I faced this problem with my group of 5 chromis. At first they started excluding 1 out of the group and eventually it died. Ended up with 2 at the end. So I bought another 4. But they still bullied the old 2 chromis from before. So I remove all the chromis from the tank and placed them in a pale for a few hours and moved the rocks around in the tank. Later I placed all of them back into the tank at the same time and they stopped fighting.
  20. Ok cool. Ya my tank is up and running now. Starting to put in fishes but the algae is still there. So I bought 4 turbo snails which really worked magic. The only thing now is my tank gets the morning sun light, so it encourages the algae growth =(
  21. Oh. That's great info. I've actually got 2 chromis in it as tester fish. But I have a feeling is the long light hours now that you mention it. I'll definitely do a water change too as well since my cycle is ending soon.
  22. Hi, my tank has been cycling for 3 weeks now. The Ammonia, Nitrite have gone down to 0' and the Nitrate is increasing. But there's a lot of algae on the rocks and sand. Why is this so? When I cycled my old tank, the algae growth wasn't this bad. What can I do about it?
