Whats ur budget like? How about MARCO needlewheel?? IMO go for larger/better ones as it benefits for the long run.

Try distributing more current to your tank...did mine now sandbed damn white... Of coz ur nitrate and phosphate must be low too...

Wow...nice rocks!!!

It all depends on what type of corals u keeping. LPS? SPS? Softies? Different species require different type of lightings. Some dont even need lights! So by telling us what u intending to keep will help alot!
My 2 cents

Looks like the circular tank in one of the FW shops in pasir ris, just that its bigger.

I'm wondering if using OHF to keep FOWLR ok not?...since the those hardy fishes doesnt need very good quality water condition.

Why not get better skimmer rather than weipro...weipro is good for the price u paid for but for the long run get better skimmer will be more cost effective.
But if u insist on buying weipro, then go for 2014. And yes u need a pump to run it, those below 2000l/hr shld be fine...and the skimmer can be a hang-on to the side of ur tank.
Do a search on a reefer name "Eric". He did a modification on his skimmer, it can work with weipro and skimming well for my tank.

Sea Cuke will be easier to maintain but many reefers here have the problem of the sea cuke being squashed by their PH/Tunze when the cuke climbed into the device.

Theres no correct/better way.
I know of a friend that works till late...so his lighting will be on only at night and off in the day...so he can see his LS when he got home. Recommended lighting period is around 8-10hrs.
-
Switch on ur actinic lights...the algae are dying because no light...
-
If u intending to keep LS that have something to do with the sandbed, then better to have some sand or else like what some bro said, go bare bottom. The diatoms bloom really can annoy the hack outta u.
